A curious decision. I'm all for the idea that old games are not dead games, but I also think it is important to support this rebirth of Warhammer.

I do support it. Doesn’t mean I can’t play 8th too. This game was played before Old World was released.

So glad you're continuing with 8th edition, so far I am on the fence with old world. It seems really fun but there's a couple of gripes I have with the game so far. I plan on continuing playing both, 8th because our home rules have fixed a lot of the game and I love all the books and Old World because it will. have a tournament scene.

Two great armies there. Thanks for the video. Love seeing that much metal in one place. Also, I hope you keep sharing some 8th ed games, ToW is not everyone's cup of tea.

Good dust up, enjoyed the report thanks. Great to see so many of the orc and goblin boar and wolf riders from my childhood. I do have some of them myself and a few goblin chariots from back then, but I'm way off being able to field an army. Well done on putting yours together, lovely to see them all painted up. Many moons ago I got my Chaos army mostly as a mail order job lot and even though it features some wonderful models (some of which I've also spotted in this battle) I wished very soon afterwards that I had gone for either Orcs and Goblins or Skaven instead. But Slaves to Darkness had just come out and I was momentarily into Chaos Warriors and what have you and I am thankful for what I do have of course. Great to see Dr Blaxill's army in action as well, much more to my liking than those awful knights he has with their lances that aren't lances. The models I'm most envious of in this case are the ogres who played something of a starring role in this battle. Hrothyogg and the Shaman seem to have had the day off, but otherwise I think he picked all my favourites, certainly all first teamers at the very least. Can't help mentioning that I reckon the standard bearer, great model that he is, is a 90s model (boo!) from the following range. Am currently wondering what the 'Classic Ogres' are that GW are supposedly rereleasing and what the prices will be like!

I have 11 of the Goodwin Ogres, including those two who were missing, so with the 90s standard bearer can run two units of 6. I've never really seen 80s orcs in the flesh painted up before, but they certainly have a distinctive look to them. Somehow the 80s chaos lingered a little bit longer than the rest, but I think there was a fairly hard break in about 1992 and most of the 3rd ed stuff vanished from stores and WD.

@@DrBlaxill If we say twelve is the magic number then I think my dream line-up would be these six including the standard bearer, the two I mentioned, the bounty hunter, the gladiator and his twin brother from Bloodbowl and one of the Bob Olley ogres (the one with a mace in two hands and a bit of a mournful look about him). Honourable mentions to the Marauder Captain (don't like his troops though) and the 90s one with an axe and a spike on his fist from the range with the standard bearer. What I actually have is Hrothyogg himself plus the Golgfag's set. The latter are Goodwin as well, but a bit of a first draft I guess and significantly inferior though I suspect their standard bearer might be the only genuine 80s one around! They're also very much on the small side though that won't stop my Dwarfs from hiring them if they get a chance as they know that size isn't everything. Will definitely try to collect the C23 ones when I'm feeling richer though.

8th has been played for many years after gw ended it so I don’t see why it just needs to stop especially when the old world has unsupported armies and gw can’t even supply models and materials to play the game 😂
