Backtesting Order Blocks on the XAUUSD for the timeframe of January 10th 2021 to Jan 17th 2021, using the 4H and 15M timeframes.
I reveal the full Order Block Strategy for the medium timeframe.
A really simple strategy with brilliant results, and leave a brilliant trade running at 64% ready for the next week.
XAUUSD (Gold) is a pair that I love to trade and I simply use this Order Block Strategy along with risk-level entries, so you're seeing it as I would do it.

I'm enjoying these videos. Good job. With regards to worries about videos being too long due to "clicking slow", don't be: Accuracy should trump time and one wants to look at each and every setup available according to the rules, entering as one would during live trading when time is ample, then later possibly syphoning out missed trades due to time of day and availability. By going too fast and missing some trades, you do miss winners yes, but importantly you miss losers. At the end of the day, the losers may not have a big impact on the net result, but they have a massive impact on trading psychology during the trades. When one misses trades and especially miss consecutive losers during back-testing, the impact is exponential during live trading, as one's data doesn't show those losers and one didn't experience those losers, didn't experience the doubt. My favourite part of this video was around 18:00, because THAT right there is what can cause problems: Down for the week, in a few trades with no profit taken yet, that is when one may start to question one's positions and decisions, again especially if not encountered during back-testing. I enjoyed being part of that part of the journey right there. Of course you may be considering analytics of vids, length and your personal time doing the back-testing, but I'd suggest not worrying about a video being too long due to slow clicking, but rather clicking slow, analyzing as one would during live trading conditions and executing as such. I believe those who are interested in actually trading and who do their homework, won't have an issue with long videos, since back-testing properly takes a long time. If the videos become too long for your liking, rather break them up and release bi-weekly or tri-weekly. Good job overall and wishing you good trading in the future.

Honestly mate, thank you so so SO much for such a kind and well thought out comment! You're totally right with slowing down on clicking through and missing losers as well as winners. I find that when deciding a directional bias realistically I only want to be trading in one direction, though when the opportunity presents itself I'll get involved in a short counter-trend trade. This has made my day - thank you 🙌🏼

Love the new video! The new mic sounds great. Longer the video the better if you ask me. You make practicing fun, entertaining as well as educational. Also educational based on the foundation of truth in trading and that’s pretty hard to find. awesome as usual. to answer your question at the end, two weeks of back testing in one video would have been great, at least for me, unless that would significantly restrict the frequency with which you produce content.

Thanks very much Joe! Yeah, I may try for 2 weeks at a time. Its just the time in which it takes to produce. Each video of 1 week is essentially 10 hours (I'm not very good at editing but so surprised at how many times I'll cough or make a silly sound which needs cutting out 😅)

Hi Paul. Make a course just for a 15m strategy. If it is a one time payment you add a 1m strategy later. I am a member of a great 1m trading community but I don't want to trade a 1m TF. Way to many chances to take a loss and over trade. PS. This is Fabian from my girlfriend's tablet 😀

Hi Fabian, thanks so much for the comment! The course is based around the Daily, H4, 15, 1 and the tick-chart. Anything below 15M and the losses can mount for sure, but overall the profit is extremely good. Thanks so much for commenting mate. Everything should be ready soon... Thanks so much! Yes - I'm transitioning currently from my career into trading and pretty much at the point where I can focus 100% on trading. I have private investors backing me so no need for challenges etc. Makes life much easier (but oddly a little more stressful with drawdowns)

Yeah, good shout. Its how I trade - you'll get stopped out a lot more on the 1M but the RR is incredible

how do you set up trading view to show inside bar candles in a different colour ?

Find the inside bar indicator and edit the settings from the top left. It should give you the option to personalise. If it doesn't use a different inside bar indicator - I think there are about 10 of them

its awesome, but even using 15mins for entries, i think one trade would have to hold for more than one day, is it? Im trading Order Blocks with Xauusd too but i find it very hard to do so, Can you backtest Xauusd for recent days if you are free?

Hi there, thanks for the great comment. Yeah - it's mentally very challenging holding trades on Gold for a long time... I try to be in and out within about an hour, so I enter typically pending orders on the 5 min timeframes and target the next 15 min block. Really simple strategy, and win roughly 30% of the time (but RR MUST be 1:5 at least for me to take the trade) - this is on my personal account by the way

Sorry for the late reply Steven. I prefer when they have swept liquidity to the left, occur in a higher timeframe POI and have a little bit of imbalance below, and are at the start of an aggressive move down following a staggered approach up (or the other way around for buying). There's a few other additional confluences that I use just to get the best RR, but that's the general way I use them. I hope that helps mate

Hi Max! Thanks for the comment mate. Yes - I trade like this in real charting, though I try more entries on the lower timeframes like the 1m and tick-chart. The lower timeframe, the more stop outs I get, so my win-rate is just under 30%. If I stuck strictly to how I trade in these backtesting videos my win-rate would be higher but my RR would be lower
