At the end of the direct Max did apologize to all his viewers and said this was one of the best Nintendo Direct of all time especially for him as he did not expect anything Marvel vs. Capcom to be announced on such an important direct.

my favorite thing about this reveal is how unceremonious it was, like there was no buildup, it just appeared out of no where and it blindsided everyone, hell it gave me total whiplash when i saw it.

Arcade cabinets was a good business During that era in the Philippines---' Every street, every corner, every alley you walk pass by. ANY POPULATED AREA WITH FOOD VENDORS ARE FILLED WITH THOSE ARCADE CABINETS FOR PROFIT. You go home from school. YOU IMMEDIATELY HEAR A CROWD OF PEOPLE HYPED UP SPECTATING INSANE MVC MATCHES From a few meters away. Now imagine at present day. The kids that grew up on MVC who still play it through emulation softwares out of desperation, hear Maximilian start a campaign to RELEASE MVC 2 Rest assured... the amount people on board isn't just in the hundreds, or thousands.

God, this genuinely was the best direct in years. A new Mario & Luigi, a new Mario Party, a new Zelda, a new Metroid Prime, an MvC collection, Dragon Quest 1-3 remakes, a bunch of free updates to games and sick NSO drops, barely any filler, a few HD ports of older games. Absolutely fire

What a wholesome moment for players from everywhere, being connected through their shared enjoyment of these games. I haven’t touched a Marvel vs Capcom game since I was in elementary school, and seeing them in arcades, but this announcement in the Nintendo Direct brought back waves of nostalgia. 🎉 I hope everyone who wants this game can pick it up.

Basically capcom said " the license is alive" and dropped the mic. The MCU dying means that they want to capitalize all that was missing from the thanos saga, which was most of the icons from the 90s and specifically the XMEN, which were missing also in MVC3/UMVC3 to push the new movies, this hopefully means that capcom got a deal for MVC4.

You know what the best thing is about this reveal is that NO ONE AND I MEAN NO ONE had a fucking clue. And this is the reason why I hate leaks because it takes away the reaction we see here. Growing up in the 90s you only knew about this stuff from mags and then after the event had been done. Why I loved the old E3 days like the God of War reveal I instantly went to find Maxmilldood just to go see his reaction

Ironically, I heard after the fact that this DID get leaked at some point but it was either moments before the Direct or it somehow didn't gain any traction. There's even a moment in Max' stream when someone brings up MvC (which Max dismissed as a joke, God bless!) and it makes me wonder if they knew

So the fate of MVC lies in this fighting collection. So if you want MVC again please buy and support this. On the other note... The only way for MVC to regain back its fanbase after MVCI is to pull a Smash Ultimate with a 100 character roster at launch AS A BIG APOLOGY LETTER! It dosen't have to be "Everyone is Here" just bring back the UMVC3 roster, add some MVCI characters like Jedah, Capt. Marvel, Black Panther, Monster Hunter, add some MVC2 veterans like Cyclops and Megaman and add new blood like Shang Chi, Nico Minoru, Elsa Bloodstone, Nero, Lady D, Luke and you are all set! 50 for Marvel and 50 for Capcom. Rollback Netcode is a must and add 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, handicap matches! And call it Marvel vs Capcom XL or XD. If the number system is destroyed. I am hoping the success of this fighting collection is the key to make it happen!

A 100 character roster? Do you want the game to be in development for 8 years? The only reason MvC2 and SSBU have their rosters is reused assets, which is not a bad thing. But when they tried that with MvCI it didn't turn out too well. I mean, it'd be fantastic, but realistically...

Yes! A dev time on par with Kingdom Hearts. Even if it means Capcom vs SNK sequel came first as a cover up for the next MVC to release. I wish it!

So, for anyone that sees this, MvC Collection is a big deal because of licensing problems taking down any port of MvC2 post-PS2 release. Unless you had it already downloaded onto your 360/PS3/etc, you were outta luck when a port's digital release's license expired, 'cause that meant delisting. Now that this collection exists, AND it's getting a physical release, media is preserved!
