Very helpful. In turf business, high OM can be problematic and lead to disease issues. Would incorporating sand into a high OM soil help with the water holding issue?

What is ideal level of organic is optimal? I know in lawns if you exceed 10% you start getting grubs and army worms.

So does vertical tillage burn up organic matter? Say I run 2 inches deep with a zero degree blade angle, does that effect my possibilities of building my organic matter?

I was wondering the same thing. I use a drill with a coulter cart to plant cover crops does about the same thing. I do like the way it cuts up the surface residue.
