2 жыл бұрынOkay so the vids got a little out of order, but I had to feature the day where I realized all of my old organizational solutions no longer work the same way here 😂 No but for real this was a successful day of overcoming the hump of getting starting on the overwhelming project that is unpacking. Huge shoutout to my girl Leah for keeping me sane and helping me come up with creative solutions. Next week we will be fully caught up after I post my first night in my apartment & me actually solving some of these organizational roadblocks. Hope you guys are relaxing before the new year picks up and life becomes cray cray again. Proud of you for whatever battle you're fighting today ❤️

You should switch your dish cabinet with your food cabinet! Makes it easier to empty the dishwasher and then your food/ingredients will be closer to your stove! Loving the new apartment! (:

For me the beauty of moving is finding a place for all my things. I’ve moved four times, in four years. And I’m always pretty impressed with myself once I’ve found a place for all my stuff. I never get rid of any furniture or replace stuff. I just make it work and the new place comes together somehow. 🤣

Happy New Year! Adjustable drawer dividers for the kitchen utensils could work well. Also, shelving racks for the cabinets. I use my oven as extra storage for pots and pans, and I have friends who use their dishwasher. A bit silly and annoying, but with limited space, we had to be creative. 😄😊 All the best!

I’m sure you already know about this but Target’s new organization brand Brighthouse has a TON of great storage options and bins! The best thing about the bins is that the sides are flat so you can push them together without any wasted space in the middle. Could be a great options for your drawers!! Loving all of the organizational content!! ☺️

Happy New Year!! In the kitchen, for my utensils, I use a utensil organizer I got from Home Goods by the brand Joseph Joseph, but I’ve also seen them on Amazon at a good price. They’re pretty cool because each type of utensil has its own place but the design is compact enough to fit in small drawers. It’s been two years since I got it and I haven’t needed to change it. :) Hope this tip helps!! I’m loving your moving diaries and your organizational process!! 💕💕

We love an organising video! Something that might help you fit more into the cupboards in the kitchen is getting extra shelves for them. You can usually take a shelf into a kitchen shop and they can cut you one the same size and then you just buy the little stud things to go in the holes

Happy New Year! My favourite room to organize is probably my bedroom, or at my parents house, the basement, which is full of things like books, toys, fabrics, and Lego. It's always a disaster but I would voluntarily offer the clean/organize the basement IF I could do it alone! I prefer cleaning without the 'help' of my family members lol.🤣 Hope you have a wonderful New Year! ❤

I know! They are only 8.5 inches wide instead of the standard 9 so it makes it near impossible to find organizers that fit nicely! The good thing is the bathroom ones are actually 9 so I got those looking really nice!

My closet is my favorite especially now that I have a walk in closet for my hanging items and a dresser for everything else. I also got nice sized baskets for things like work out clothes. I have a separate closet for shoes and coats but I do want to get shoe shelves or organizers for that closet to make it even easier to find things.

Happy New Year. The pots and pans are usually stored in the bottom of the oven. Baking sheets can be stored sideways in the cabinet.

Definitely kitchen/bedroom are my favorite to organize! It is super frustrating when things don't fit though--my desk this year only has one drawer so I've had to be very ~creative~ haha

After a HORRIBLE moving experience, this is helping my anxiety. The rental house we were supposed to move into was completely trashed by the previous tenants. The realtor/property manager refused to show us the home on multiple occasions even though she knew we were moving from 6 hrs away. Then tried to keep our money (which was quite a bit by the way). The house was so bad we couldn’t move in, so we slept in our uhual. Then I had to find a place that took huskies 2 days before Christmas. I found 1 apartment that could take us and we were able to move in Christmas Eve. I was grateful we found a place… but I was expecting to move into a bigger 3 bedroom home not an apt. so I was stuck downsizing that day, which was very stressful. We ended up having to keep the uhual for 2 weeks until we could get some sort of storage unit for our nicer stuff I did not want to part with… OUR WORST MOVE TO DATE.

Check out drawers organisers from wardrobe or kitchen design places! Kitchen design stores often have a plastic drawer organiser that will fit!

Just and idea for the organizer cabinet thing in your closet that you’re putting cleaning supplies in. If you have someone help you life it up, what if you angle the cabinet diagonally and push it towards the left side, and then once the left part is in the closet, you can straighten out the whole cabinet and it will fit! Since there wouldn’t be a door in the way blocking the left side

I love your videos! So excited to see what you do with this space. Have you tried stacking your pans with the lids flipped upside down? So that they can stack one on top of the other? That would save you needing to use the rack that your lids are in and give you some space back - whilst utilising the height :) just a thought as that’s what I do and it works well for me.

Not so much a whole room but desk and office supplies are always my favorite thing to organize. I used to have a desk with a big drawer and a smaller one. I wanted something more open so got rid of it and got a desk that is basically a table. I need drawers 😐😅

I’m not sure if your target would have these, but they have a section of like bins/storage containers and they make smaller long ones for like 50 cents that would literally be perfect for your silverware sorting and for your bathroom drawers. They are a bendy ish material so they have always fit my small drawers! I wish I could post a pic

I can so relate to your kitchenstruggles.. I just have drawers and closets underneath the counter so I had major struggles to make everything fit. And being 1,86m I almost have to lie on the floor to get to the back of the closets for pots and pans haha! I could really use some of your and Leahs organizing skills haha!

I had the same problem fitting a cabinet in my closet in the end I was able to take it apart and rebuild it in the closet and it fit!

Tip on pot and pans- put them inside the oven. Since it's usually not used as often, that's were i placed mine.

If you stand the little dresser up on its side, push it into the closet then set it upright. Take the drawers out if you need it lighter. 5:55

They make utensil organizers that are super narrow and the utensils are “on top” of each other rather than next to each other! My kitchen has the same problem as you it’s so weirdly arranged 😫

You should put all your dishes and silverware in the cabinets and drawers closest to the dishwasher as possible and your food in the cabinets as close to the fridge as possible that’s what makes sense to me

I don’t know if you have sold it yet but the thing you want in the closet put it on its side so it’s tall and slide it in the but it back down when it’s in.

Def would switch the food cabinet and the “less cute dishes” cabinet. Good will be closer to the stove and the dishes will be closer to the dishwasher.

You shouldn't leave anything flammable on the stove, even if it's off. It stresses me out so much because I have a college friend who had a clock on hers and it randomly shorted and melted the clock and burned down her place when she was at school😬😬😬 Something similar happened to my husband's family twice. Your new place looks awesome, btw!

For the closet you could take the silver shelf apart and build it in the closet

That's what my dad wanted me to do but it's a little big for the space and I got a spare shoe rack instead and it fits the space perfectly...I am saving that rack though...it will come in handy one day!

You need the Joseph and Joseph sliverware holder. It’s a HUGE space saver. $15 on Amazon.

is that the one where each section kinda stacks on top and it's super skinny like 6 inches wide??

YES! I have super skinny drawer like you. I can fix two side by side and they keep everything organized. I was a little worried about not being able to see what utensil I’m grabbing but you learn quickly what slot is what. Plus there’s small icons on the the organizer.

I thought about it, but that thing is so cheap and hard to build there is no going back...the good news is that I found the perfect solution ;)

Kiara Madisen yay! That’s amazing! I moved in the summer and had the same issue. Nothing fit anywhere! SO annoying ugh! Anyway, good luck with the rest of the move! Can’t wait to see it all decorated 😊

I keep my pots and pans inside the oven.. it just sucks because you have to take everything out if you want to use the oven

Ughh I wish my family had just mentioned money management to me as a kid (or at least put into perspective how expensive LIVING is) saving gift cards is a great idea. Since turning 18, my birthday and Christmas gifts consist of socks and candles.. I'm not complaining, but a $30 Walmart gift card is better than a 35th pair of fuzzy socks. 🤣
