Pierre Pincemaille ist einfach der beste. Zwar macht er fehler aber improvisieren kann er perfekt. Einfach klasse!

Sorry, not even close. Widor could have only dreamed of having the talent and skills Pincemaille had. Pincemaille would have put Widor and Tournemire to shame.

This organist has real unvarnished 19th Century French organ chops and he manufactures a very credible improvisational fascimile serving of what may well have been a very fine likeness of a legitimate period piece of that unique genre, a seemingly genuine and glamorous, yet glittery and non sensical patois of God knows what, that seems at every moment to say everything and nothing at the same time

Bat Man je m'excuse pour votre commentaire. Je voudrais vous citer deux noms : Michel Bouvard, organiste titulaire de la Basilique Saint Sernin de Toulouse, qui donne des concerts d'orgues lors des fêtes religieuses. Une lui tiens à cœur le 15 Août. À l'opposé Gérard Loisement, organiste titulaire des Grandes Orgues de la Cathédrale Notre Dame d'Amiens. Il y a encore de vrais et bons organistes dans nos Églises

As grand denizen of St. Denis, Pierre Pincemaille made pure mincemeat of sorts out of that sortie. Hildebrandt of the Nibelungenlied displays great honor and loyalty to his friend. Viva la France! Viva la Liberte!

Are we sure that the organ is out of tune ? It sounds to me that its very particular sound is a characteristics of St Denis CC. Any comment from organ specialists ?

As far as I know it needs some restoration. But it is one of CC first big organs, so maby not like modern instruments from later decades. The sound is more classical to me, but it has a very specific sound which I like although. (It 'sings', but I am not sure it is out of tune. I prefer a warm organ out of tune more than a clean and boring instrument)

SADRailsim It IS Cavaillé-Coll's first instrument, build to homage organs of the French classical period. Also the first instrument with a Barker lever machine!

No, this is the characteristical sound of the CCs, probably you think about the plein jeu sound, which at high pressures it sounds like this.

its not necessary to learn in a conservatory in order to improvise ! I am a musician and i love to improvise on piano but i never learn to do !
