Good question and answer but from my understanding just like Thanos somehow Silver Surfer has gotten stronger over time absorbed the Negative Zone and now wields mjolnir so adding all three of those combatants makes for a stronger Thor tenfold from my understanding and we don't know what else Silver Surfer has been through I think the Silver Surfer always could have gotten this powerful but never had the need or want for it. He is would Hal Jordan or Kal-El is to Darkseid.

He almost certainly has the Cosmic Control Rod too since he controls the forces of the negative zone. And don't forget there's that story where old king Thor defeats Galactus, although I believe he had to use the Thor Force in addition to Mjolnir. But Mjolnir, the CCR, and whatever other powers the surfer has obtained in the past hundreds of thousands of years could pose a threat to Thanos without the writers having to stretch their imaginations much.

soulbreeda Thor’s hammer and Thor in general is A LOT STRONGER in the comics than in the movies. Ragnarok seems to have gotten him a smidge closer to what he should be. But in the comics Hela is Loki’s daughter not Odins and therefor Thor really is firstborn and has to power he should have. (Odin in the comics was a GALAXY buster in his prime, they have been severely depowered.) As someone already said Mjonir isn’t just Uber metal it contains within it a giant sentient galaxy eating storm from before time. lol (think dcs paralax and ion [green lantern] entity, it’s such a massive amount of energy it develops a state of mind)

Have a theory of mine. They called him the fallen one. The original Fallen One is the first herald of Galactus if I recall correctly and he used dark energy rather than Power Cosmic. Maybe during this time, Surfer also gained the ability to use dark energy and now he can use both power cosmic and dark energy giving him full control over the forces of universe.

Nope. The Surfer killed trillions of people and holds it against himself. If you don't think you can be worthy, that hammer is never going to move. Namely why after Thor's "death" and everyone forgot him during Matt Fraction's Thor run, while the Surfer was the only one who could see the hammer, he couldn't budge it despite throwing all his power cosmic at it to move it.

megatronusorionpax 137 galactus hasnt gotten stronger because thanos has been going around the universe and absolutely annihilating entire worlds causing galactus not being able to feed. Essentially, theres barely any planets left for galactus to feed on because of thanos, so he's severely weakened

It was a good story twist. Lots of tough guys develop a gallows humor as they age and mature, so it isn't unfeasible for Frank Castle to grow in that direction -- just unexpected. The part that bothers me is how Frank flips on a dime and begins working with Thanos, the same guy he was hating for centuries.

I get it. I just don't like it. It still strikes me as a poorly written motivation.
