@@RatedRRaj The Sky One version was awful!!! It looked like it was filmed in some studio warehouse and the Gladiators had no personalities whatsoever. @@Big4ofThrash You’re just coping. Those Gladiators from Sky One version had way better personalities than today’s ones and some of them went on to become really big in the entertainment industry. Oblivion went on to compete in pro wrestling and is now in WWE, Goliath also went on to perform for WWE. Ice became a full time BT sport interviewer working for UFC. Explain how the new one is faithful to the original? It isn’t in any way what so ever lmao and all the gladiators seem cringey with their dancing and laughing, like that nitro guy. They’re trying to show to everyone ‘oh look we can all be the same and funny’ whereas the Sky One had an original feeling to it. The new gladiators are wannabes, just look at Legend and how bad his mic skills are lmao! Everytime he talks it’s like he’s trying too hard to be the bad guy but it’s just not working. The presentation, theatrics and showmanship on the Sky One version was outstanding as each Gladiator had their own themed attire too whereas on the new one everyone is all wearing the same attires and clothes. That right there is zero effort being put into it. Also the Sky One had way better theme music too, the new one is lacking in that aspect since I don’t think it even has an official theme. There’s nothing wrong if you didn’t like the Sky One one and if you prefer the new one instead, but you’re definitely wrong and have no claim whatsoever by suggesting that the new one is most likely to the original, especially considering that they had Wolf and John Anderson on the Sky one too but the new one has absolutely nothing when it comes to bringing anything back from the original series.

First time I saw Wolf, before he was known as Wolf, was in the early 80's on the front cover of a cassette for a game called 'Barbarian: The Ultimate Warrior' which was incredibly fun for a young kid. Fast forward to the time this show aired, also the glorious Amiga days, and that was when I realised he was the man on the front cover of that cassette. Stood there looking like Conan, huge sword in hand, an extremely in shape, dark haired, barbarian woman on the floor, wrapped around his leg in a seductive manner. By far the best and most memorable Gladiator of that time. Well, not accounting for Jet...obviously 😍

By the way I think if Wolf didn't take pre-workouts and caffeine powders he would look younger. I have done a huge study on pre-workouts that contain a lot of supplements most notibly the caffeine. What happens is kidney function drops and caffeine levels being too high ages you and causes more poison build up in the blood stream, which makes you look old or deformed in some way compared to if you stop doing them and clean your body out, you will look young and have stronger skin and nails. All you need is really collagen supplement for skin, 1 coffee, biotin, vitamin-c, magnesium, zinc, copper, cod liver oil, all B-vitamins complex, to help you glow and look young, whilst keeping hydrated with water and or electroyltes everything as natural as you can get it. Oh and only drink when your thirsty. I did with pre-workouts for a few years, then I stopped for a few years in the pandemic to test my theory out, and it's true I looked younger whilst having one satiated meal per day and no pre-workout than a pre-workout with one meal per day. Difference is huge as well. Takes time to notice effects though. Must be a nice scam industry to use a pre-workout, get the body you want easier but at the cost of your age and looks. Ever wonder why you see big men at the gym all pumped, that look way older than they are? It's either a combination of steroids and or a lot of supplements that focus on caffeine and pre-workout ingredients/chemicals. I study ingredients and perform the tests on myself to determine the outcome. I also research ingredients, and have more than 10 years knowledge in diet/exercise. Hope this helps someone out there. Anyways, much respect to Wolf though for having the courage to come on and be honest. Whatever BBC are thinking, they will always be forever dumb for not involving wolf at least he should have been the commentator or just someone to come in and push everyone around for entertainment purposes lol. He can even come in with mad max gear and then be mean to everyone lol.

Legend! Wolf was an integral part of being a 90s kid. I have to say, the reboot is pretty good. The contenders seem to be more of a match for the gladiators than they did originally, probably a couple of reasons for that. Fitness and being into fitness is more of a thing now than it was in the 90s especially pumping iron, the original contestants came across more as average joes. Not sure if safety has come into it too, on things like the gauntlet it was brutal originally whereas now it seems pretty easy the gladiators aren’t as aggressive. More of the new events are about speed and agility as opposed to brute power or a combination of speed and strength which plays into the contenders hands too. I think the eliminator seemed easier in the 90s though, most of them flew through it with no issues, that cargo net looks really hard work now.

I remember sitting around the Tele with the family, screaming at how bang out of order Wolf was! 💪😂 …The way Wolf used to ONLY listen to John Anderson was also very funny! Everyone needs to contact the BBC to petition & get Him on the show as a Contestant! I wanna see what he can do!

Sounds like pride talking on the part of Wolf. Interesting to hear that the 90s show was no joke for the gladiators back then but that doesn't mean the new gen stars will be lack luster!

The smallest male Gladiator is only an inch shorter than Wolf was in his prime, they've already shown themselves to be beasts in games such as Powerball and Duel. A 71 year old Wolf, however much he might claim, wouldn't be able to beat them in these games.
@mikthe2004

No, at 71 - no matter what he says - he is not capable of beating todays Gladiators. When you get older your reflexes slow, and after your early 40's you start losing strength and size. At 71 you're probably only 50 to 66% as strong as in your prime, even if you're the same weight. I'm 62 and I know this first hand, and from observing other bodybuilders. Wolf is just making these statements to get 15 minutes of fame, and to drum up publicity for the show. This is real life not "Rocky 6" where a mid 60's Rocky takes on the champ and almost beats him.

Mate he was cage fighting in NZ into his 60s. He won silver at the Kiwi Brazilian Jiu Jitsu championships twice against people half his age. He would defo smash this new mob. I think it's only the Chinese dude who knows how to fight a little bit, the rest are just muscle heads. Don't fuck with a 70-year-old martial artist who quite happily goes into a cage with 30-year-olds as a hobby. And 30-year-olds who actually know how to fight I should add. 😅

@@Camberwell86 OK, I stand corrected. I was unaware of those facts. I'm just speaking from a strength standpoint, and what I've observed in the gym. Fighting is a different matter, but I think in the Gladiator games Wolf would have trouble? I might be wrong?

Indian born, with a Dutch sounding name, was a Gladiator in England, now settled in NZ and developed the accent too...that Wolfman gets around, he must've been in his late 30s/early 40s when he was a Gladiator. I believe Richard O'Brian from the Crystal Maze was another 90s UK celebrity figure that also emigrated to NZ too.

Wouldnt trust that guy. He wasnt going to talk about steroids and clearly didnt want to. Why? Hes a fitness instructor who doesnt want to discuss steroids. Anyone who knows anything about the industry knows you cannot look the way his dad did or any of the gladiators do without steroids. Yet he doesnt even want to talk about it? Very odd. Wolf takes steroids - all of them do.

He was contestant 172 in Netflix's live adaption of "squid game" and he didn't get very far in that, I doubt he would be able to hold his own against the new gladiators! However, that being said I do think he would be a great villain on there still, better than venom. Would be amazing if they brought him in as a guest referee that seemed genuine but he would side with the gladiators and keep blowing the whistle on the contestants until he was removed haha

It's all talk, no matter how fit he feels he is, he's 71 years old and realistically, his body wouldn't be able to cope with taking on young athletes in their physical prime (half of those athletes bear in mind are practically twice his size). The worst thing he could do is try to prove people wrong and then get himself hurt.

Wolf is a legend i named my first pet after him haha (a hamster). The Gladiators in the 90s was one of the greatest tv shows of all time, even though i was a big fan of a certain 6+ gladiators i think Wolf made the show that bit better he was definitely the most entertaining. Nothing against the new show i respect how much they have stuck to the original except that nob gladiator whos trying to copy wolf but failing miserably. Still really glad they brought it back.
