I actually got my phone water damaged like 3 days ago. I looked up Zack's tear down of my Nexus 5X, opened it up, cleaned it up, and now I'm back to business. So you never know when you might need to repair your phone. If it comes to that, I'm glad that Zack has a nice archive of teardowns.

Yeah ... I don't really get the humour ... the iPhone 7 may only have 2GB of ram but it's arguably the fastest and most reliable phone on the market ... not to mention that the A10 chip runs circles around the snapdragon SoCs (at least in geek bench) .... idk, maybe I just don't enjoy people cutting down companies for no reason ...

I I dropped my 3Gs into a clean toilet once - I grabbed it out of the water rather quickly - I went out to my car and turned on the heat and let it blow good into the bottom and and sides of the phone sticking the phone into the air vents and rotating then I left it on the sunny dash for an hour or 2 - No damage from the quick drowning. Those gen of iPhone seemed to be really gasketed and tight from water entry. I think the 2 might have faired as well.

The iPhone 7 doesn't need any more than 2gb of ram. The software and hardware are designed to work together therefore it runs fast regardless

sportsfanatic 006 and they have good software therefore invisible headphone jack :D nice joke... Software optimisation is a thing, but it's not magic.

Don't get me wrong, good optimization can come a long way, sure but... It does not make miracles happen. Good hardware is still required to make things like multitasking better (even though I have to admit the iPhone has amazing multitasking abilities considering it only has 2gb of ram). Now consider this. My P9 lite that I got for $200 has 3GB of RAM, and a 1080p screen compared to the 720p of the iPhone. And I know that I sure am not prepared to pay close to a thousand dollars for software optimization that makes my home screen and browser feel faster. Not trying to be rude but... Apple kinda is stuck in the past. Just a tought.

YNSLR the screen is stuck in the past not the whole phone also if 2gb on the iphone is enough of ram to have the smoothest performance which btw way better than a lot of android phones with higher ram why upgrade?
