We were fortunate to be invited over for a pre-launch tasting, first look of the Original Karim’s, now open in Hatibagan. We tried out all the signature items and were bowled over by their main course items.

Recently started following u guys. Just loving the coverage of these unique spots that I didn't know were in Kolkata. As someone who grew up in kolkata and then moved away I love how you mix the nostalgia spots like arsalan, Peter cat and then cover these new spots.

Never been here, but heard a lot abou their mouth watering Mughlai dishes. The food looks very tempting, I liked the main course ... In this puja this is a must visit place for me.. Royal ambiance..

The food served does not look anything like the one served in Delhi ( the fish must be first in Karim’s history) & never was any kind of mojito’s offered). Must be trying to blend in with Bengali taste but why?Karims in Delhi now has over 30 outlets.

The Karims in CIT Road which opened sometime in Jan'21 claimed that they are the real Karims from Delhi. Now if the Hatibagan branch also claims the same with the same spelling (single i), then there is a problem somewhere. Request you to please try to find out. .

Went there on the very first day itself. The ambience was really nice. The chicken kebab was on the drier side. The biriyani was light and good and the firni was the best I believe. They opened at a very peak time when pujo is knocking at the door. A very good friend of mine opened this place. So happy fr this. Again a good work done by the team ❤

This vlog my God I am already salivating 😋 The qorma and the chicken stew looks so nice, I am sure it was so delicious. The keema roti also looked something so unique and ofcourse the paan mojito. I might be wrong ...but Food Testing...Critique/Review and Food Vlogging are probably three different Zoners! At least in recent times!! There is a debate, about the originality and exact heir. We’ve been told it’s different, but we wanted to avoid any controversy, so didn’t add those elements in the video.

Karim Hotels Pvt Ltd was strated way back in 1913 by Haji Karimuddin. His father used to be a khansama.... in the court of Bahadur Shah Zafar. So, at Karim's you get to taste the flavours of authentic Mughlai dishes.

Indeed a wonderful place , moreover the attempt to bring both the cultural heritage of the same Mughal Empire based on two different parts of the country is really amazing. Foodzpah is really the best place to get to know about such unique places in our city.

As an experiment last month, I and friends had 6 iconic dishes at dinner at the original Karim's in Jama Masjid, Delhi. I then flew to Kolkata the next morning, and had the same 6 at Karim's Salt Lake for dinner the next night. Unfortunately the 2 sets of friends at the 2 dinners were different, so there is noone to cross refer my opinion with, which is this: sorry, but there is a HUGE difference between the originals in Delhi and those served at (at least) the Salt Lake branch.

Karim's is over hyped like Delhi. Pricy and normal taste. In Kolkata it will be tough to compete. It's been One Year since the first restaurant was opened at CIT road( moula Ali)
