My dream car is a 1969 Nova. Many memories growing up with my big brother driving in his when I was a little kid. We always talked about building one together for me, which was always a dream of mine. But life got in the way. And my brother which was also my best friend, my best man at my wedding, the guy I looked up to and my Hero was in a tragic accident almost 5 years ago. I'm just hoping one day I'm financially stable enough to build be able to buy and build a Nova the way we always talked about..

It's a garage find....not a barn find, with a CE motor or counter exchange back then. The owner seems to be a very nice man, easy to talk to...another nice post Patrick!

Then you never drove a GM product with the T400 series transmission. They were amazing,second gear hit so hard,the rear tires would chirp and you never missed a shift.The daily drive was more pleasant.

I would think you could line this green car up next to the supposed new blue 427 Yenko that just surfaced and see fairly quickly if the blue one is authentic or not? I would love for the blue car to be authentic, but it seems there are some issues. This green car is very cool.

When I was a young buck in The Corps in the mid 70's I bought a '65 vette Roadster with the 396 425 HP engine (forget the designation)...it was during the first arab fuel embargo and muscle cars were selling cheap...I paid $3,700 for it...drove it for 2 years and sold it for $4,950 (In one day...I may have had it under priced!)...I wanted to keep it but I was in Engineering College, money was tight and it got 9 MPG if you kept your foot out of the throttle. Needless to say she was damn fast and I had a blast driving the pants off her.

I grew up in the same town as Yenko chevy. I remember seeing these cars on the street back in the day when I was teenager. Funny thing is directly across the street from the original Yenko location was the last remaining Mercury only dealer in USA. Mark G yes very vague and if you write something about it possibly not being a Yenko car just a L78 that they were going to sell without becoming a super car conversion your statement disappears as three of mine have on here so far. In my opinion it was to be sold as just what it is a L78, I believe this because they actually sold big block cars that wasn't converted and because it was a automatic car. There's no documentation that it was ever or ever going to be a Super car conversion, and with him deleteing all my statements just because I want more proof than someone repetitively stateing that it is a Yenko I smell a dead rat.

It’s kind of similar to a guy in town that owned a 69 charger rt since new. It had a later vin number so he always said that it could have been a Daytona but never was. Just a Charger RT still cool but just a story.

Vintage Creations no sir not even close to the sane. This car is backed up by dead proof with solid documents to prove it was ordered by Don Yenko exactly with all the pre existing equipment to be a super car candidate. Only 37 or less of those were ever produced and only solid proof exists for 2 of the 37 actually entered the Super Car program and we’re converted to 427. Theodore this car is the only automatic to ever surface and is 1 of less than 37 that’s not a story that’s a fact and it’s real with real documents.
@runnwildgarage602

Patrick Glenn Nichols Musclecar Barn Finds just curious but if yenko ordered these cars for the super car program why wouldn’t they just convert them all if that’s what they were intended for. At Mr. Norms he would modify any Mopar to the customers liking but also sold cars that were not modified. They still hold a certain value being a mr. norms car though but unmodified.

He said he went down with cash in hand. Patrick says so you had your dad co sign because you were a teen. Guy says no I was an adult. Guy says I wanted a 375 auto and I couldn't get one locally. He didnt go to buy a Yenko. It's where the car of his liking was found. Patrick is baiting him to say he opted out of the Yenko conversion. Hell he didnt know what a Yenko was.

A Nova sold from Yenko's lot is not exactly a Yenko Nova (badging, Torque Thrust wheels). Proof that Yenko intended to convert it may not exist, you'd have to hear it from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

Wow, great story. So close to being a super car but its a super car to me. Do we say COPOish. The last of the mean ones. Solid lifter 396 ended after 69. Nova's are lighter than Camaros. Turbo 400 considered the strongest auto trans ever built in the world back then and faster than any manual trans. Bla Bla.
