@@clownfishbox yea most the characters are used a ton cuz they got stories. But the difference between robot head and the other version is quite literally a robot head. I could see them as different characters, since Ivy made a ton already. He’s creative like that.

oh, Ivy's comment mentions dissociative identity, so I guess the 2 lyrics are 2 personalities. Thought the message was overstimulation from the internet. Voices all over, hard to hear just one. Still a dope use of the 2 lyrics O.o . Remember to take breaks, all 👍. Maybe listen to a vibing playlist, take in some fresh air, draw, or hang with a bud irl, etc.

amazing artwork and incredible song, but the screen shake makes me nauseous. i also liked the glitching from starting from "system error is it my time to go", nice little touch there. the overlapping lyrics was an interesting approach to the overlapping lines. the lines don't fight for attention, but they do draw their own points and naturally fit the same amount of time. overall, amazing job and a wonderous song, keep up the good work!

I'm really curious about the lyrics "Drop, stop. There's a melody head" I've heard "Drop, stop" before from someone I used to know who was huge into hypnosis. This being a line they'd constantly use. It got annoying because they couldn't go a single conversation without using it. So I'm really curious what a "Melody head" is as I've never heard the term before, nor do I have any idea if it has anything to do with hypnosis

I've been trying to figure that out since I first heard this and this seems to be the only comment about it. I looked it up and a head melody is a thing, but it doesn't seem to align with the sentence context its used in within this song.

@roofogato seems to be the main thematic melody of a musical piece, most notably in jazz pieces? I genuinely don't know. I'm not well versed in musical theory enough to understand what exactly that entails. The only thing I could find with any semblance of a definition is the Wikipedia page "head (music)", but even then it's not called a "head melody", it's called a "head", and the head is a melody(?) I think I just skimmed it before and was misremembering in my previous comment. All that to say, maybe unrelated? The phrase "there's a melody head, and *he's* playing me dead" implies that a "melody head" is an entity that can be gendered (assuming we are speaking literally here, and not personifying an object or concept) so it might be like a furry species or something like a protogen? (Complete shot in the dark, but the art for the song is a furry with a TV on their head, so I dunno), or it could be an informal term or nickname? The song seems to be about DID, so a 'melody head' could be an alter who provides constant chatter and disruptions, perhaps in the form of idly singing? (I have very little info to work from, so this is all wild speculation) or it could be a head melody, and they just said "melody head" so they could rhyme it with "dead" in the next line, could have been entirely utilitarian, and they do just mean they are being tormented by the head melody of a song they are trying to write and "the voices" won't stop until its composed, implying that the whole system for some reason relies on the creation of music to survive? (Also, this is all assuming the lyrics are literal. This is probably all a massive metaphor that means something else) I think I've spent too much time thinking about this because there is literally so little to go off that all I can do is wildly speculate. I'm glad I put this here, though, so anyone else looking for answers can ping me if they figure it out.

this song is incredible. catchy beat and the message really makes sense. i dont have DID, but ive heard of someone with it through a friend. it is such an intriguing disorder in how each alter can just switch in whenever, with their own memories and experiences. for the person experiencing it, i would imagine the disorder would make living a normal life reallt challenging

DID is Dissociative Identity Disorder. It can range widely in severity between person to person. DID is typically triggered in someone who has had traumatic experiences, and can shield the person from these bad memories. It's not the same for everyone. Essentially you can have various "Alter"s who share your mind palace. These Alters are, in a sense, other people. They can have their own wants and desires. But it's not always triggered by trauma. People can go their entire lives not even realizing they have DID. In the context of the song, the person feels distorted due to the other personas or alters. But this doesn't mean they are broken.

Anthony Padilla made a great video about DID. It explains it a lot better than I ever could. Imagine living day to day, as you would, but large blocks of time are inexplicably missing. You have no idea what happened during that time. Only later learning that someone else was living your life for you. This is just once extreme. There are cases of people having active, conscious conversations with their Alters. And can even swap control of the body whenever they want.
