Wait... I since when did Artemis hate Orion? I don't remember hearing that version ever before. The only versions where I hear that Artemis killed Orion were ones where she was tricked into doing so, usually by Apollo. In fact, one of the versions that I heard was that the reason Apollo tricked Artemis into killing Orion was because she was in love with the hunter, which also goes to explain why she asked Zeus to immortalize him in the sky. Edit: Actually, I looked it up and there are versions where Artemis hates Orion, but all of those are variant or takes from later authors like Virgil, but not related to the original myth.

I'm so confused. I thought Artemis killed Orion with the big scorpion because he wouldn't stop pursuing her companions the Pleiades, who were transformed into stars to escape him but then he got made into a constellation chasing them still with the scorpion chasing him. It seemed like we were getting set up for that version with the "that's the kind of guy we're dealing with here" comment.

Except Scorpio is (I heard) one of the immortal guardians of (one of) the entrances to Hades so won't die. However let's make it fanon that Orion regularly tries to escape so he can get back to hunting *living* animals and always runs into Scorpio.

I've completely forgotten what I wanted to say to the video when I discovered the 1 dislike. It's one. ONE. I've actually never seen such a thing. I've seen some zeros, but then the first minute passed or the channel got a second sub and that was that. This feels like staring at a unicorn. Amazing. And mysterious. And very weird. Most likely a conspiracy. Possibly some jizz of a god or three involved somewhere.

"Artemis didn't like him very much." We must know different mythos, or you're changing a few things. Not to hate, I'm just a big fan of mythology and haven't heard the version you talked about. I've heard some of the things you've said, but not to 100% accuracy. According to the two tales I know of, Artemis and him had a thing for each other. His parentage is also different depending on which one you go with. In one he is the child of Poseidon and some woman who's name starts with an E (I can't remember it), and the other he is the child of that...well, circle jerk thing. A gift to a farmer. Anyways, Artemis always liked him in all the versions I have read. He hunted with her and Leto (her mother). Though, it differs in his death. One, after hunting with Artemis and enjoying it he boasts that he will kill one of every single animal on Earth, which pisses of Gaia who sends the Scorpion after him. Artemis though didn't call her and say to take care of it. Artemis and Leto actually ask Zeus to lift up their fellow hunter. Also, I'm pretty sure Artemis could have killed him herself....which brings me to number two. In the second version of his death, her brother Apollo, absolutely does NOT like them being together (She is a virgin goddess after all and I guess over protective sibling or probably incest feelings cause I mean...greek mythology), and so tricks her. Saying that HE is the better Archer, and so when Orion was out swimming in some water Apollo tasks her to see who can hit "the target". The target being Orions head from waaaaay off in the distance. She doesn't know this, and can't tell it's her love. So, she shoots and hits him square. Killing her lover. And then he gets raised up to the stars. So, that's the two versions I know of. In each Artemis liked him. So idk. Still, I enjoy hearing the things you talk about and stories you tell. Keep up the good work!
