I have a lot of orks waiting in my display case to be painted. I like layering, glazing and blending as much as the next miniature painter, but sometimes you just have to bust out you Citadel Contrast and produce some quick results.

The sigvald burgundy looks more blood angels red, i have jst done sigvald and its purple lol

Amazing. The Sigvald Burgundy is definitely wrong though it looks like Baal Red/Blood Angels Red

At least say that you needed to have second coats of paint, the green was clearly gone over a second time. the colour changes massively between cuts.....

Why is the ork armor that color. What's the lore color and or can it be squig armor red ?

There is no reason for the color other than me thinking it looks cool 😀 If you want your orks to have squig red armor, go for it 😀

For me contrast just doesn't look that good.. but I have csm and loyalists so that's possibly why as too many flat panels

There are ways to make it look relatively good on SM/CSM as well with some care and tricks like I did it here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iK2Sm8J4tp_OZ3U.html But in general, normal acrylics are better for those unless you want to go fast :)

@@ph3lansminiatures I loved the idea of contrast paints. I even own quite a few that I really like for flesh and the reds are beautiful. I did buy the tyranid combat patrol but haven't had time yet to mess with them

They should work wonderfully for tyranids with their segmented/ridged armor :)

Contrast alone looks wack- you gotta be able to mix other techniques into it to look complete. But in terms of a speedy paintjob- contrast is the way.

What about painting the pieces before they're assembled? Is that possible i'm very new to this
