The Orlando Magic (unsurprisingly) traded their second-round pick as they turn their attention to a critical free agency period with a chance to upgrade their roster and take the next steps. Where will they spend their money? That is the big question. But one thing is clear the Magic have to spend their money to set up their future.

Love the Da Silva drafting as previously mentioned. He gives the magic a ton of depth options now which they havent had since the howard finals run era. I think you resign Moe, decline the options on Chuma, TQ(do what they did with admiral), Admiral, and then look for a solid PG option whether it's Tyus Jones/DLO and also maybe a KCP. We do not need an all-star caliber piece right now. the magic need to find a guard that can dish the ball with consistency and low turnovers, along with being a veteran mentor that can teach AB some things. Would love to even see a Kennard or a landry shamet pickup as well. I think Weltman has actually had his best case scenario happen this offseason, I think he has the right idea in what he's done so far. I loved listening to what he and AP were talking about in terms offseason plans. I would say that he has grown on me in the last few, because mind me I was not a fan of him and hammond with the selections of Bamba, and Chuma. I think he has taken the right approach in not adding a ton of new players because of the fact that they had a huge jump in games won, defense, etc. I think you need to target a Center for somewhat cheap(maybe that's Hartenstein or somebody similar). Shooting can be addressed in a multitude of different ways from internal growth, finding multipositional players that can give them quality minutes, etc

Think Tyus Jones would be best, cuz the entire point is to give Paolo a PG who can shoot. If we get Klay whos playing PG? Jalen? Nah

Suggs is a dawg who proved everybody wrong about his shooting coming into last season. I honestly don't think the Magic have ruled him out at returning to PG. He's matured, he's great in transition... Yes, the turnovers are still there but the whole team had an issue with those. With his defense as elite as it is.. Kinda dangerous as a PG too. I love Cole, but he's kinda the issue. Not efficient enough to break the starting lineup over AB or Markelle and can go ICE COLD. Not a facilitator

I don't like overpaying for klay but if they believe in suggs at Point then klay makes sense.. dlo is better shooting Pg with more length than tyus

Are we underselling the need to decisively figure out where Jalen is going to play? Is he for sure the PG and we’re trying to find a running mate for him or are we going to use him as a 2, and look for a guy to run the offense more?

We just need dlo In the starting 5.. we have our bench.. let our young wings play and grow and see what we have black, howard, Houston, de Silva need to be playing and we already have Cole, mo, and JI In rotation.. kcp or Gary Trent do nothing but take minutes away while not making us a better team

You want Dlo? Im good he plays absolutely no defense but more importantly indont think he will buy in to our defenseive identity. Dlo is no good plus he has proven he folds in the playoffs

@@orlandoadams1056 I am laker fan so I had watched most of DLO'S games including his stints with other teams. In regular season you don't have to worry about his defence that too you got Suggs aswell, if DLO scores 18+ pts we never lost. He is good playmaker aswell, But the problem is in playoffs once his shots are not going, he is not athletic enough to contribute on other things like rebound or defence, he will shoot you out of the game. He is good with young players, his energy will be electric, that will translate in regular season. But if your coach can make him buy in then DLO is far better player than KCP or Klay at this juncture

@@orlandoadams1056 thats fair. To the point about no defense. The only guard we can sign or trade for that comes from a defensive identity mindset is dejounte in atlanta. Id love to get him. He can score is a decent 3 pt shooter and plays defense. He made all defensive team in san antonio. Coach mosely will bring that out in him again. No guard we will sign or trade for plays defense and play makes and shoots wells we have to give up something. We need shooting and play making to even think about making a trade or signing for a non defensive player… thats the thing how much defense are we going to give up in a player. The shooting and playmaking have to offset that loss. Will that make us better… we cant get worse with our roster currently built. Ideal scenario is to get a lockdown blocking center and a playmaking shooting guard

The first question: Who would you pick? The second question: Where are they playing? I agree the Magic punt on second-round picks too often. You can't give up the opportunity to add talent. But I don't lose sleep with that decision. It's time to add veterans. They picked a non-project in Da Silva. Time to get players to help the team win.

I cannot wait for Cole to get traded and stop having to carry you guys against good teams and then sit and watch the starters getting to cook the bad ones. There’s no empirical evidence for upgrading a guard instead of center. Cole Anthony’s box plus minus against all playoff and play in teams over the last 2 seasons is exactly 0… break even with a losing record at 40-53 that is impressive. But yeah don’t worry you guys have your stars you’re good with these starters and their performances against all playoff and play in teams over the last 2 years. -94 40-55 Franz -376 41-59 Paolo -199 33-47 Jalen -202 26-44 Wendell Lol that’s your starting lineup against post season opponents 😂 I’ll even come back and show you the numbers for the guy you add to that starting lineup. I’ll bet it doesn’t get any better 😂 Best plus minus on the team during the 9 game win streak gets rewarded with 6 fewer minutes and 4 fewer shots a game the rest of the way. Plus 56 when you won 7 out of 9 the year before but you Florida knuckleheads thought Markelles +1 was the reason for that streak too. This coach actively sabotaged Cole’s season to quiet the calls for him to start because it doesn’t mesh with his delusional philosophy of thinking you can win games by averaging less than 12 points in the first 6 minutes of a half. Up 6 points when he came into game 7 and then you were up 17 points just 5 mins and 45 seconds later when he comes out. And then he doesn’t see the floor again until you’re down 8. LMAO your coach threw the season away with his Tebow time basketball. Got you the lead and then won you game 6 (according to Franz). Then Mosley decides to give Markelle big minutes in game 7? LOL that’s soooo stupid. What a dumb coach, organization and fanbase.

He had 1 bad season. He's still valuable. Even with this "bad season" stats he had, it is still better than 80% of the league. I don't know what world people live in where you average about 18 points and shot 38% from 3 but you're washed. His ENTIRE CAREER IS 40+ from three. SMH
