I wish all the horses were like Ormonde. He gives the tourists a warning nudge to get back or if he’s really annoyed a bit of a nip. I wonder if the guards had a German Shepherd on a lead instead of being mounted on a horse, the annoying tourists would go up and try to pat them of try to take hold ofthe lead. Now that would be fun to watch!

The man in the grey pea coat was great. "Steady on". Firm but not mean and Ormonde backed off. Interesting how he behaves towards different people. Some he really goes after and others it's just a nudge. He's my favorite horse since Arni.

Lovely non horse people, please understand that these are not “ horse bites” they are nips. I have worked with horses of all sorts, and the worst bite I received was from a very unhappy riding school horse that attacked me in his stable. He’s head snaked around grabbed me by the entire shoulder, shook me like a terrier does a rat and tossed me out of the door! I weighed 12 stone! And yes I ended up in hospital. When a horse really Bites, it punches with its teeth and open mouth, they don’t side up to and nibble first. The nibble nip is horse speak for back off and give me my space. Or I suspect in the case of these troop horses “ I’m really bored and let’s see what I can get away with” however if you do get nipped and the skin is broken get it properly seen to.

First, read the sign and take it seriously. Next, watch his actions with other people, and take that seriously. Then, look at what his ears are doing. If he has them pinned back, he isn't in the mood for play and would just as soon attack you. If you still can't figure it out, good luck to you.

Die Ohren sind zwar nach hinten gedreht, aber er hat keinen "schlangenkopf" wenn ein Pferd wirklich sauer ist, sind die Ohren oft fest nach hinten an den Hals angepresst, was man dann "schlangenkopf" nennt. Bei ormondo sind die Ohren aber locker nach hinten gedreht. Ich würde ormondo eher als schelmisches Pferd bezeichnen, das die Leute gerne neckt.

He's not viscious. If he was he would bite for real and that's something else than these nibbles. I've seen a young stallion bite because he was kept away from a mare in season, believe me, it was something else than what you see here!

What a mavellous horse. Definately my favourite. Most of the time it is threat, and only sometimes the real deal. The visitors are like pesky mosquitoes, no wonder the horses get the hell in, and what a terrible irritation we inflict on the finest animals God ever blessed us with

I wonder if today's Ormande comes from the same bloodline. Interesting read when googled. Ormonde was an undefeated English Thoroughbred racehorse who won the 1886 English Triple Crown and was labelled the 'horse of the century'.

Loved it and you can see the troopers enjoying it too if you look closely i bet they jump for joy if they get ormond in the morning, what a great Corporal of Horse that troop has looks after his guys and gals and his horses and he even talks to tourists all round nice guy.
