I'd love to see Anor Londo re-imagined with their current budget. It's disappointing that it's quite boring gameplay wise. Lots of large, empty rooms and bland looking textures. Honestly, I just wish to see the entirety of dark souls be given a remaster akin to that of Demon Souls.

@@ahassani I feel like this is how Anor Londo should be, it should be disappointing. you go through absolute hell to get there, then the beautiful framing as you first see it, then you start to explore it and... its just an abandoned city, oppressively empty, specially with its architecture that I can only describe as gothic brutalist.

I know people have probably already mentioned this, but if you can drop your shield earlier as you circle around an enemy, you pull in all kinds of backstabs. The game requires you to have had your shield down for a few milliseconds before it can attempt a backstab. Really, for a lot of reasons, the more often you can keep your shield down, the better. PS. 40:54 Small bit of trivia: here you can see Amber taking damage without being hit at all - this is because she was sprinting. In this game when you are sprinting on a sloped surface, you can trick the game into thinking that you are falling (since your height is changing quite rapidly), so it applies fall damage to you.

I love that you decided to start parrying on silver knights (and did it like a boss!). They aren’t the hardest to parry but they hit like a truck so you’ve got to have nerves of steel to stand in there. The only thing is that you can't actually upgrade your Estus Flask to the max of +7 in a single playthrough, because if you kill all 3 Fire Keepers, then you have no Fire Keeper left to give the last soul to to upgrade your Estus Flask, however you can upgrade for the last time as soon as you get back to Firelink Shrine in NG+ if you have killed all 3 Fire Keepers. "Skill check". They're a bullshit fight. You either luck out on somehow beating them or get stuck for weeks on end and eventually just throw the whole game away. @@Alex-dn5ns i'm sorry to say, but you can absolutely learn the fight and it's certainly not unfair. It took me way more attempts than Amber here (about like 20 or so), but it's very much doable with the right approach and strategy. If you get a good handle on the spacing, baiting out attacks and timing your own attacks correctly (usually right after they've done an attack themselves) while not getting too greedy, it's fair game. It's more or less how Amber approached the fight as well.

I've watched your bloodborne playthrough and this one, and this is the first time that I've seen you truly struggle with an area and a boss (at least a good one) and to see how you handle it. Don't worry about whether or not you struggling in Dark Souls makes a video fun to watch, because it's a Souls game. Struggling and overcoming the challenge is what makes it great! You did very well against Ornstein and Smough, which is easily one of the best fights in the game (with an amazing soundtrack to boot!). You learned to separate them fast and then picking them apart slowly. Don't be afraid to try new weapons. Upgrade materials are plentiful and farmable/buyable. You varied your main damage stats quite a bit (Dexterity and Strength) making it easy enough to find a new weapon! It may feel slightly weaker then your Black Knight Sword at the start, even at comparable upgrade levels, but that's because the base damage on the sword is crazy good. Once stats are sorted it'll even back out! Well, onto the next part we go! Keep doing what you're doing, it's going great!

There's a few obscure secrets in Anor Londo left to discover: 1. Back at Firelink you should try to reach the crow's nest via the elevator. It will take you somewhere special where you can get an item. Once you get the item, return to Anor Londo and examine the painting again. 2. Try twisting the rotating platform again. There's more to discover there. 3. You can "kill" Gwynevere and get a really cool surprise. 4. I normally don’t watch lets plays but I watched your Bloodborne playthrough as you uploaded and loved it! I’ve recommended it to several people. As well as hollow knight. I’ve long waited for you to do Dark Souls. You play these games very meticulously and it’s a blast to watch and vicariously experience it for the first time again.

I dunno if you've noticed or if anyone else has mentioned it, but concerning chests, if the chain is rounded forward it is safe. If it is not, it is a mimic.

Congrats on beating O&S Amber! They're in my top 3 boss fights ever! The music, the sick armour and the two different cut scenes halfway through make it such an epic battle

amazing episode as always! one thing I've never realized before: the encounter with all the painting guardians near the painting is meant to teach you how to use pillars to split enemies' aggro before the O&S fight. Yet another example of brilliant, very subtle design by FromSoft

Great Job Amber! Absolutely conquered one of the toughest bosses and areas in this game. Orstein and Smough are one of those bosses that make or break people, I remember having such a tough time my first go. Yes, depending on which one you kill first, you get the one left remaining's soul AND can purchase their armor set from Domhnall (in this case Smough's since you killed him last). Also, that giant blacksmith can make weapons from boss souls! Great job on parrying those silver knights too!

Thank you for passing. 25:25 - It was cool.) 1:16:23 - Damn! How many times I passed and did not notice that there was no rod in the fence! And each time the bone returned to the fire .... It's a shame ...(I didn’t have a hint inscription here). 1:37:30 - For the first try very long held against them. Commendable. 1:52:00 - An excellent battle turned out, you did well.

Mimics DO breathe, just not audibly. You can see their lid moving a little, and sometimes they yawn. Also, their chain goes a different way than normal chests.

The entertainingly satisfying eps continue! 🙌Now that you're able to warp between bonfires here's a quick checklist of hopefully non-backseat gamer things to do in areas you've already been to: ANOR LONDO • Go back to the big room with the giant knights before the O&S boss room. A message popped up there that said "You feel the Black Eye Orb quivering". 👀 UNDEAD BURG/DARKROOT BASIN • Visit the merchant who sold you the Residence Key and buy the Orange Soapstone, which lets you rate player messages as well as write your own, and the bottomless box, which lets you clean up your inventory at bonfires. • The big knight at the bottom of the Undead Burg tower is chonky, but you're far more skilled. • The monster by the water that was harassing you just outside the bottom of the Undead Burg tower deserves harassing back. The waterfall there is lovely, too. FIRELINK SHRINE • Try to get the item on the roof that you saw at the 15:15 mark of ep 5--you were very close to getting to it at 15:06. • That item on the roof is also very close to the friendly crow perched there. It's worth investigating her rooftop. Looking forward to more!

OK, I finally finished the video, and I can say: GodDAMN you did well against Ornstein and Smough! Extremely well done! Re: weapons, I personally played through with the Halberd until I picked up the Black Knight Halberd very late in the game. Basically any weapon is viable as long as you level it up appropriately and feel comfortable using it. Also, didn't even notice you looking tired or swollen or anything, you always look lovely! It's hard to compete with Walton in cuteness though, I kept going "awwww" whenever I saw him. 😁💜

That archer duo is peak game design which most modern devs don't dare. Doable yet with just a hint of intended malice shining through. I think going to the right first and screwing aroung until the knight falls off if the optimal strategy indeed. O&S is usually a check if someone made a "speedrun" here and gets rofl-stomped. If everything was explored carefully and the gear upgraded the encounter is fair with an optional NPC summon. And we get another amazing quest as reward. Anor Londo is one of the highlights of any playthrough.

Great video Amber. You did really well with this area. There are a lot of things still to do here though. You can go down one further level and explore there. You will also need an item from a previous ara to access the painting. Look behind the giant blacksmith. He can use the boss souls you have acquired and create boss weapons. Most importantly though, you can equip the black eye orb in your hotbar and use it when the message appears so that you can avenge the Firelink Shrine firekeeper. When you manage it, please read the item description. Also don't forget to go back to Seigmeyer, the onion knight and talk to him.

Well done, you handled Laurel and Hardy like a champ! There is a difference whether you kill Snorlax or Pikachu first: Killing Thunder before Thighs just gives you just Fatboy's soul while if you leave Slim for last, you get a ring too, but don't worry it wouldn't be useful on your build. Most people agree that Bert and Ernie are one of the best boss duos in the franchise.

Always fun to see people take on the Super Londo Bros. fight for the first time. Seems like most people leave Biggie for last just by default, but I find super Smalls to be a little more difficult to deal with anyway, so that makes sense. Drake and Josh are the 'skill check' bosses gating the back half of the game; a lot of people would even say Jay and Silent Bob are the toughest single fight in the game, or at least outside the DLC content. Took me over a dozen tries before I took down Bulk and Skull in my own playthrough.
