When a temporary filling fell out in a tooth, the temporary filling stuff saved me from the pain of an exposed nerve!!! Story: my dentist was "struggling" to get my root cleared out, said she was struggling and that I may have to go over to their other clinic for private treatment so she put a temporary filling in and called me in a week later to check if that would be the case. I complained to the my local ICB (I'm in the UK) that I suspected them of forcing people to have private treatment as I knew about others who had been robbed off by them and then magically she had no issues completing the root canal!

Why are people chewing on ice if you can just grab a paper towel and put it on the ice so your hand doesn’t get cold and lick it. It works the same way to be honest.

when getting my braces off they said that they would give me a permanent retainer and i was absolutely not having it and so i called and asked if they could change the order so now i have a regular wire retainer i kind of hate it bc it makes it hard to talk (i’m already bad at it as it is) and it’s uncomfortable but i’m just glad i didn’t get a bonded retainer

idk why it reminded me of this, but my ortho had so many color choices it was hard to pick. i always got themed colors haha. not having braces anymore is amazing, tho i need a new retainer

@thebentist I've used the mouth rinses and it doesn't numb ur whole mouth like the gel and works 10× better. But what also works on infected tooth with abscess is hot water salt and peroxide swish and it has proven 2 work by everyone who tries it.. and the video ppl crushed up pain reliever is to put it over the hole in a tooth that is hurting to block the nerve from getting triggered. I hold this helps solve some questions.

See my retainer popped off and no one would glue it back on for me because "they didn't put it on originally" 😢 so I ripped mine out also.

I use the pain relief Orajel mouthwash for when I get my braces tighten and it helps a lot with the pain. It doesn't fully numb your mouth but does it enough to soothe the pain and make the first few days after an adjustment bearable.

When my niece was like 6-7, she would straight up yank her baby teeth out. No flinching, wincing, or tearing. That girl still scares me. Hahaha

Thanks to you Bentist I conquered my fear of the dentist and a new interest was born: oral care. And I am more dilligent on flossing and brushing twice daily❤ My mouth is better than it was before I got of prescription medication. Unfortunately, there is damage due to Osteoporosis (side effect of said medication). But, up untill now, still no gumsdisease or cavities, the only one of my bloodline that got unscathered (sorta).😂 I'll stay tuned, I wanna learn more, maybe in the future I can help others take better care of themselves as well.

1:15 FUN FACT: when I was a child my teeth were so strong in my mouth even when they were wiggly it still felt very painful. I remember taking out 1 tooth only and it was unbearable. Every other time I had to go to the dentist to get them removed and each time it was traumatizing so much so that I avoided the dentist for years. Now I’m getting back into going to the dentist and I’ve had a much better experience as an adult than as a child 🥲

They just gave me permanent retainers without asking me, also gave me normal ones and my bottom ones broke off a few times in the beginning but my top ones have never broken off and ive had them for almost 10 years, so sometimes they do stay for a while. Bottom line is tho, my bottom normal retainers dont fit anymore bc the glue they put is more bulky

Speaking of acid erosion. I had super bad acid reflux (due to disgustingly bad tonsils that I didn’t know were bad; long story) And even just acid reflux will eat away at your teeth. If you throw up or have bad acid DO NOT BRUSH YOUR TEETH RIGHT AWAY. Use a rinse. Floride or mouthwash to neutralize the acid. Cause it makes the enamel weak. You will brush it away by accident.

Hay Mr dentist I want to ask for advice. about some months ago I got feelings done in my tooth because I had braces they had little legions forming that were sensitive to hot and cold and recently I was feeling a little pain in those tooth so I asked my doctor and she recommended me to get an x-ray when the results came back the doctors told me that tooth that I had gotten done feeling in where dead and I have to get a root canal and brushed it off as a normal thing that happens in braces .what should I do is it normal after you get feeling and there is no cavities left. it was just small legion so I don't know what happened. I am dejected I had literally thought I would have a perfect smile after getting braces but I feel like it's turning out to be the worst decision I have ever made in my life so are the doctors write in be it being a normal thing or should I take some kind of action because the feelings were supposed to stop the tooth from rotting it did the quiet opposite I need help from a medical professional but I don't know who to ask you are the best option I have. also the doctor didn't tell me that my tooth had cavity until it was too late and I had to get a feeling they don't even have remineralization gel and they would have never told me but since I follow you I know about it I still couldn't find it anywhere where I live so I have no clue about what to do I feel like it is the doctor's duty to inform us as soon as this is something wrong with our teeth and provide us with anything that could help it recover so I don't know should I take action against them or something they don't have the proper resources like remineralization gel also even if they did the feeling my tooth died

Floss pics didn't exist when I had braces. Floss threaders, however, prepared me for a lifetime of using the dang things. Permanent bridgework is a pain in the butt to floss. "You only have to floss the teeth you want to keep." According to my orthodontist.

Bentist you’ve changed me cuz I used to barely ever brush and I have an appointment for my teeth soon so basically the appointment is like i have to brush my teeth everyday for 3 months and then the day of the appointment when they check my teeth if I have any plaque or anything then they will give me braces but if there is plaque or smth then I don’t get the braces so now I’m brushing everyday cuz of you thank you so much and keep up the good work you do amazing and you never fail to amaze us and you never disappoint us🩵💙🩵💙🩵💙
