Brilliantly done. For anyone interested, Martin Scorsese’s first short film ever is just a man shaving. Steven spielbergs ‘the color purple’ also has a scene where a character shaves another with tension in the background. There’s something about the act of shaving which is inherently violent and yet completely passive. Comes out beautifully if executed skillfully (like in this scene)

Very true, when we feel like he has given his career best performance, he comes up with a movie, a notch above the previous one. He is just outstandingly brilliant actor. The only other actor I feel could be compared with Fahad is Ranbir Kapoor especially in Wake up Sid, Rockstar, Barfi and Tamaasha.

@@JayDen-et9rj oh no my friend. Ranbir Kapoor is nowhere in the same league as Fahadh. Ranbir is very good in playing the angsty, tormented,clueless guy-Rockstar,Tamasha,Are Dil Hain Mushkil,Wakeup Sid are all variations of the same character. Fahadh has a done a wide range of characters from funny to romantic to anti hero to mass hero to neurotic guy to to villain. I don't think anyone in the current generation,in any language has his range or has experimented as much as him.

@@pillaimeenakshy Root in Tamasha, he is not a clueless guy. In Tamasha he was unbelievably good. Ranbir is not getting versatile scripts. Or may be he is trying play safe by working with only big production houses. In southern film industry, an actor signs only for 1 movie from a production house. But in Hindi Actors sign for 2-3 movies from a production house. It may also affect the quality. Big production houses focus more on commercials rather than the storyline. Ranbir has fallen prey to this maze. Sorry buddy, but I have to totally disagree with you if you are questioning Ranbir's acting talent. I guess you have missed some of the movies from Ranbir's filmography. Rocket Singh, Rajneeti and Roy. Are few more movies which proves his versatility. And never judge an actor's capability from a movie directed by Karan Johar. He stopped making content oriented movies long back.

Mainly one point because kerala's the way of living taught many to realistic . The directors and script writers are mostly do that kind f .And if any actors like fahad got a kind of realistic film. They must should the film perfect and the whole crew of the film will support to they do it. They dont bothered about what others think and what, the society thinks. Fahad's performance is great BUT there are a number of other things in this scene that are just fantastic. - Soubin's reactions are just incredible. They're so true to the emotion and the character. So real. As they say, it is the reactions that make for a compelling performance than the action itself. - The camera work. A normal audience might not notice it, but there are so many lens changes in this small little scene that elevate it. Shifting between long lenses to create a cramped atmosphere and ominous presence, wider lenses to create distances and choice angles to create the tension in the scene. Plus, catch this, a place full off mirrors, must've been such a headache to shoot it. - The set design, red masculine, with a logo taken care of 'S" - a man who is self obsessed. Excellent stuff. Never seems exaggerated, natural but does it's work. - Finally a subtle but impactful move, to delay the music. A lesser director would underscore the conversation between Fahad and Soubin with a music track. Make it caricaturish. Here the intentions and personality of Shammi's character are revealed along with music which elevates a seamless performance by Fahad where he breaks into laughter. Great film. Great scenarios. Very well executed on multiple levels. I saw it only once, but watching this scene alone brought back so many images. That is the strength of good storytelling. Love it. Will rewatch soon.

This lockdown got to c many malayalam movies...wow...great talents in Kerala..always loved malayalam movies but liking it more..fahad...Shane nigam..pritviraj ..ofcourse great mammuka..mohanlal ..I swear superb industry. More than all ...keralite girls so so charming and beautiful...simple yet stunning...
