Heliodoro പക്ഷെ രക്ഷപെടും. Alice തന്നെ കൊല്ലാൻ നോക്കുന്നുണ്ട് എന്ന് അറിഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ പുള്ളികാരൻ Dr. Donadio നെ സഹായത്തിനു വിളിക്കുന്നു. Dr. Donadio, husband Heliodoro ന്റെ ക്ഷണപ്രകാരം കുറച്ചു കാലം Alice n Heliodoro ന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ താമസിക്കും. അങ്ങനെ Alice ന്റെ സ്വഭാവം നീരീക്ഷിക്കാൻ അദ്ദേഹം തുടങ്ങി. കുറച്ചു മാസങ്ങൾ പിന്നീട്ടപ്പോൾ Alice Dr Donadio നെ Mr. García del Olmo എന്ന് വിളിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി. Dr. Donadio ക്ക് അപ്പോൾ മനസ്സിലായി അവൾ ഒരു alternate version of truth ഉണ്ടാക്കി അത് വിശ്വസിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി എന്ന്. Alice ന് mental hospital ഇൽ പോകും എന്ന reality accept ചെയ്യാൻ പാറ്റുന്നുണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല. അവൾ Heliodoro ഉം Dr. Donadio യും സംസാരിക്കുന്നത് കേട്ടിരുന്നു. അത് അവളുടെ മാനസിക നില തകർക്കുന്നു. Dr Donadio അങ്ങനെ Alice ന് Paranoia ആണ് എന്ന diagnosis ഇൽ എത്തി, അവളെ അവളുടെ സുരക്ഷക്കും മറ്റുള്ളവരുടെ സുരക്ഷക്കും വേണ്ടി ഒരു mental hospital ഇൽ ആക്കാൻ തീരുമാനിക്കുന്നു. ഇത് accept ചെയ്യാൻ ആകാതെ അവൾ അവളുടെ ഒരു version of story ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു. അതായത് അവൾ ഒരു detective അന്വേഷണം ആയിട്ട് ആണ് വന്നത് എന്നൊക്കെ സ്വയം വിശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്നു. Alice നല്ല brilliant ആയത് കൊണ്ട് അവിടെ ഉള്ളവരെ എല്ലാം പറ്റിക്കുന്നു. Except for Dr. Alvar.. അങ്ങനെ investigation പൂർത്തിയായി Alice ന് paranoia ആണ് എന്ന് തെളിഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ വീണ്ടും medical council കൂടും. പക്ഷെ അവർ alice ന്റെ story analyze ചെയുമ്പോൾ Alice ന്റെ paranoia trigger ചെയ്ത സാഹചര്യം ഇല്ല എന്ന് കണ്ടെത്തുന്നു. കാരണം പുള്ളികാരിയുടെ husband പൈസ എടുത്തു മുങ്ങി. Alice ന്റെ അപ്പോളത്തെ mental condition വെച്ചു പുള്ളിക്കാരി normal ആണ് പറഞ്ഞു alice നെ തന്റെ സാധാരണ ജീവിതത്തിലോട്ടു പറഞ്ഞു അയക്കുന്നു. അങ്ങനെ ആ novel അവസാനിക്കുന്നത് Alice ആ institute നിന്നു പുറത്തു ഇറങ്ങുന്നതും ഒരു കുറ്റബോധം മനസ്സിൽ നിറയുന്നതും ആയിട്ട് ആണ്..സത്യാവസ്ഥ മനസ്സിലാക്കി പുള്ളിക്കാരിക്ക് മാനസികമായി stable അല്ലായെന്ന reality accept ചെയ്യുന്നു.
