Tom has the patience of Job here with the questions...

These Covid tie-alongs were one of the best things about the plandemic. We all had to find ways to imitate that much needed human connection. Those of us who wanted it, FINALLY got to work from home...The WORST things (Damn near drives me to suicide) is having to now go back into the office! I miss live stream tie-alongs, and covid tying competitions from Kelly at the slide inn. So lame that everyone just quit doing these sorts of things.

I mostly tie nymphs as I prefer to fish subsurface. I do pretty well tying various nymphs and catching fish on them. This fly, however, drives me nuts. Only about 1 in 3 flies come out OK. The rest end in the garbage. I watched several different videos on how to tie it... Craig's and Tom's. While each taught me some tricks. My sparkle dun's don't satisfy me. I know I have the right materials. For example, Bucky from BRF picked out the right deer hair for me. I'll keep trying, but I'm frustrated as hell....

The hardest thing about fly fishing is catching fish when they dont appear to be eating anything, and even when you figure out what they ARE eating figuring out what they are eating. Tossing out fly after fly after fly size after size after size and they eat nothing, add to that the hundreds upon hundreds of flies you'll have to carry....its a bit ridiculous. Did some investigating, because of catch and release fish are becoming hook shy. Instead of encouraging better wild breeding we're torturing fish that end up having a 20+% chance of dying after being hooked anyway. Rules are rules though, we cant keep any of them. and the ones that survive just dont get caught again, the ones that do, eventually die.
