My suggestion is to add a light spreader under the tube, so that backlight will be more consistent. I liked the idea, looks pretty stylish.

You can build it from the kit: www.oscilloscopeclocknixiecrt.com/Kit.htm : )

This is a 6Lo1i, and there are many available online. www.ebay.com/itm/293955557016?hash=item44711dd698:g:bW0AAOSwrU1a~tpB

They still manufacture these CRT tubes? Saw one that was manufactured in 2018

I think, don't get me wrong but I think these 6LO1I tubes are all vintage. Every single one of those specific tubes I've found online are all labeled as something like "vintage Soviet" or "rare vintage Russian blah blah blah"

All of them are USSR-manufactured CRTs, so they are at least 30 years old. Mine is labeled end of 1973 on the single-page manual that goes with it. I guess they really did produce a lot of them because there is seemingly endless supply of these units on eBay. Probably got snatched by some opportunist when USSR eventually collapsed.
