Barney Kessel knew how to sound in a group while playing rhythm or lead guitar and that's the great thing about him.

Over 40 years old and still sounds amazing. If you don't get out of your chair and dance to this, your hopeless.

Barney Kessell was a great musician and gentleman, I had the privilege of meeting him many moons ago when he played at the Kiama (Australia) jazz festival, we stayed at the same accommodation an hit the breakfast table at the same time, whilst eating his rice bubbles he signed one of my many Barney records which I still have and play, thankyou Barney and KZfaq.

Great to see & hear them together, as Barney was the original guitarist with OP, before Herb Ellis. How they leave room for each other is a great example of how piano & guitar can work together. 3 virtuoso playing as trio.

I had the privilege of seeing Oscar twice in the RDS in Dublin (Ireland) with the above Niels on bass and Martin Drew on drums. I would love it, if someone could find the money, the where-with-all, or whatever....to 'clean' up this absolute masterpeice of a video. It shows Oscar at the absolute peak of his abilities. And it's a crying shame that this brilliant video by the BBC couldn't be 'cleaned up' and restored from analog to digital. I wonder if the Oscar peterson estate could help out in some way? Or the BBC for that matter? Anyway....thanks a million for posting this up. It's great!!

Oscar Peterson his Keen sense of milotic structure and of course playing blues swing jazz in the major keys to me if he asked me which I find he senses very well is that the major key blues jazz swing are more of a divination of pentatonic mixolydian Dorian etc are all kind of regulated with the major scale in mind it sort of puts a harness on the wild sense of the blues blues

I watch the beginning of the video and think hey Oscar Peterson is an excellent virtuoso piano player. But later in the video I realize he's God.
