His wingman fills in whole base chords while still doing the comp. Amazing!!! OP and NHÖP R.I.P. JAMING FOR THE ANGELS.

Oscar was an angel sent from heaven to give his amazing talent to a musically needy earth. He has since returned to the heavenly realm continuing to make angelic music and of course steppin' it up with his beautiful energy which goes on forever. Merci mon ami!

Obviously post-stroke, from his face and his left hand. Still the guitar allowed him to create magic. I saw him in the 50's at the village Vanguard, the 60's with JATP in Munich. and the 80's at Dartmouth Collage, unaccompanied where he talked to the audience quite a bit. He said "I am often asked "Just what is jazz?" He ripped off about fifteen seconds of Sweet Georgia Brown, then said "If a guy walked out from behind that curtain, put a gun to my head and said "Play it exactly the way you just did or I will shoot you!" My response would be "Go ahead and shoot, I have not idea what I just played!" STILL THE BEST DEFINITION I HAVE HEARD.

one concert of his I was fortunate to see was in 2004. I was in tears for what he was still able to do but in tears for what he couldn't do any longer. Such a mixed event. There never will be another like him.

The whole quartet is highly professional, wonderful piano in tune, only one Oscar. In jazz-this is good as it gets.

It's post-stroke OP and not far from losing Neils NHOP. Mr Peterson clearly is trying to use his left had, but little to no strength. In the beginning. But watch closely. As the concert proceeds, he is able to add a hearable chord. On the ballads he is able to add substantial sound Take the visuals away, and there is nothing missing in Mr Peterson's musical attack. It he introduction to "Cakewalk" he states they are about to record the composition. Oscar Peterson had "The Will to Swing."
