All these comments and not a single mention of Pedersen? That bass solo is probably the best I've ever heard.

My favorite concert from the Oscar Peterson Trio, with its three members at the top of their art. Virtuosity, creativity in writing and serious improvisation skills, Oscar had it all. And NHOP, well... his style is out of this world: unique, to the point, playful, trendsetting, just perfect in every aspect.

The piano is absolute perfection. No one ever mentions it but without the skills of the piano technician the concert couldn't be on such a high lever.

What I loved about Oscar was not only his perfect piano playing, but his choice of songs. "My Foolish Heart", "Pedido" a and "Caravan" are some of my favorites. He was such a master at pleasing his audiences and fans. He played often with these two other fine musicians. Love it all! . . .SYLVIA! - FL 7/26/2020

I've always loved the symbiosis between O.P. and his "Sidemen", who just incidentally had to be the best in their particular wolds at the time. NHØP in particular being the most amazingly accomplished Bass man in my lifetime. This isn't something you can just come by. Not to mention of course, the pure creativity.

My favorite OP Trio concert. This is also my favorite cut from the concert. As a commenter noted these three were at the pinnacle of their careers. Nils on bass could almost read Oscars mind. Their blend was fantastic. Current day- nothing comes close!

Probably one of the greatest jazz trio concert (piano, drums and double-bass) ever played. Thank you very much for this masterpiece.

Milton Drew on drums. Not to be overlooked or overshadowed - was introduced to me in a dream last night but I had never heard of him. Googled him this morning. Found him. Very cool dream!

Perhaps my favorite OP concert. I believe that the OP Trio was at the very pinnacle at the time this concert took place.

The beauty of the blending of East and West, that's JAZZ, reflected in this trio's heritage also: Europe meets Africa!

Pam Tebelman: Africa? What are you referring to? Oscar is from Canada. Who is from Africa? SYLVIA!

we will never in our lifetime see this kind of perfect speed and perfect technique. there just isn't enough time for a person to acquire this kind of precision. our lives are hung up with too many high-tech toys. you will never see human do this again. I've seen them all, I have been doing this for over fifty years. it won't happen again in our lifetime. trust me, I know. jim beishline

The tune CARAVAN, was not written by Duke Ellington, it was written by Juan Tizol from Puerto Rico, who was a member of the Ellington band and played the valve trombone for many years. While the attribution to Ellington appears in many places it was not written by him. There is plenty of proof that Tizol was the composer of this tune. "Perdido" was also written by Juan Tizol, like many, many others.
