I live in Indianapolis and this is historic right here. Kudos to you two for landing Oscar Robertson. His high school team actually lost to Milan High School (the team that Hickory High School from the movie Hoosiers was based on) in the State Semi Finals his sophomore year. My dad (RIP) who was from Franklin, Indiana played against him while playing pick up basketball back in the mid 1950s. My dad said Oscar would shoot 30 foot hook shots and swish them all like it was nothing. He was that good. My dad eventually went to play basketball at the University of Louisville in 1960. He unfortunately dropped out after a year because of the exact same things that Mr. Robertson went through while at Cincinnati. Things were way different back then.

Thanks Anthony.I just want to add.Thats why you cant have an all time G.O.A.T.It has to be done by eras.Sure the greats like MJ, Magic, Bird, LeBron etc can play in any era, but there's a lot of players that wouldn't make it and it wouldn't be because of talent.

When Big O finished college he was the NCAA all time leading scorer until Pistol broke his record. When he retired from the NBA he was number 2 all-time behind Wilt. And to this day he is still 11th on the NCAA scoring list and 13th on the NBA list. The only player that's top 15 on both lists.

I think ESPN did a documentary on Oscar, the city did not want to do a parades for their state championship, and his days at Cincinnati were painful, he actually tear-up on set. I think it was one of those 60 for 60, but not sure.

Salute fellas for gracing us w/the legend, The Big O. This Era of BB imo is sometimes deminished by "the perceived competion" or "amount of teams" then. I always felt like the psychological warfare off the court and in the arenas in that time was prob most of the battle. Our passion to hoop is > the obstacles and transcends generations! Merci 👑
