Didn't watch any of the nominees or winning films but likely they would prefer Scorsese continue making Italian Mafia films they didn't like Brando rejecting his Oscar for Godfather to give attention to the plight of American Indians either then Glazer did a Holocaust picture and annoyed people rejecting his Jewish heritage and denouncing apartheid and Genocide in Gaza either. It all seems very narcissistic manipulative of the arts to avoid unpopular opinion. Presumably Nolan and Cillian likely created great work though and deserved their Oscars for their efforts and Martin made a good film and hopefully many will see it and contemplate their own bias and predjudices to the Indigenous or their lust for fossil fuels and willingness to rape and pillage the land and it's people for it. It's just greed and violence wasn't Casino about that too any awards for that film?

Its a good movies. I can't call it a masterpiece though. If the story was told from a native perspective, it would have been a classic. The ending was too abrupt.... For me... this was a missed opportunity. Maybe Gladstone deserved something for her effort.... but was never the best picture.
