Excellent. I didn't realize the 'tape' feet were temporary. He seems to walk more comfortably on the skis. You can tell the doctor really likes cats..especially Oscar. Great job!

If there's one thing cats do very well, it's adapt to and overcome adversity. Had Oscar been confined to the more common "kitty wheelchair", he'd no doubt have been almost precisely the same in his love of life. But watching the original vid where he woke up with his first prosthetic feet and immediately got up and into things he shouldn't (another thing cats do very well), I can only say "Bravo Oscar" and see he loves his new feets!

What an ingenious prosthesis construction & design! The video was recorded 10 years ago and it's touches me, because I didn't even know back then that you existed....how valuable experiences can be ... I don't want to miss this knowledge anymore.

Thank you for this wonderful work! My moggie is 7yrs old and has just had an amuptation due to injury to his hind leg. I can see he struggles with it 'ghosting' and have seen him utterly frustrated as he adapts to using one leg, which has always suffered from a lazy muscle, since he was a young kitten. I look forward to watching for developments that may help him and avoid hip strain as he ages. Great work.

I was actually thinking that, about skis realeasing at the binding, before he said it! Pretty nifty! Except I think you need a bit of speed for that to happen-I once had a fall skiing, when I was almost down by the lifts; it was pretty flat and I wasn't paying attention; I was going too slow for the bindings to release and I took all the force to my knees, it haunted me for years. However, Oscar here seems like he has more sense than me. :)

Oscar running on blades? He really does become more and more like Paralympian Oscar Pistorius (AKA Bladerunner) every day.

It;s amazing how untraumatized he seemed to be, and how naturally he's moving. Good kitty, Oscar! 2 questions: 1) is the bare patch on his hip a shaved area from surgery? 2) Is there really a chance of implanting prosthetics in humans (can't see why not, but I'm not an expert... like a lot of the commenters... : ) Somehow, I sense that 'no news is good news' doesn't apply in this case... did Oscar make it, or did complications end the experiment?? After telling us how important this treatment could be, surely you'll apprise is of the long term outcome.

What a beautiful lad. What are the limbs made of - nylon? Do they have a certain amount of flex designed into them for landing etc . . ? Are the 'pads' spongy, like a real pad? It must be an ongoing process of testing and improvement? Sorry for all the questions, but as an engineer, I love this. Brilliant achievement.

I've just finished reading the book, is Oscar still alive?

Hello, my cat six months had amputated his rear paw. Soon after it was placed a prosthesis. It was an experimental procedure. I wonder if it is normal to have Rotations and involuntary movements in that leg. The amputation was at the ankle, already q the same had not ligaments. Please wait response.
