Great comparison! I agree that pushing the blade too hard does destroy the teeth. You wouldn't expect it to survive being hammered, either. Keep up the good videos!

Awesome! Thank you so much for the positive comment! I'm still learning how to make quality content and make no claims to being any kinda expert, lol. With decades as a tradesman and a tool addict, I just tell it as I see it from my experiences. Thanks again for the support!

Nice video. I've always heard complaints of multi-tool blades wearing out fast, but mine seem to last forever. I have one half moon blade from Harbor Freight that has cut out about a mile of drywall during remodeling, and I haven't killed that thing yet. "Let the blade do the work," is exactly right. Pressure creates more heat. Heat kills blades. Be kind to your tools.

Great comment! Thanks for backing me up. Exactly as you said, smoking these blades isn't doing any good for anyone. You wouldn't force a jig saw thru material, you have to let that thin little blade do the cutting, same idea with the multi tools. Thanks again for stopping by and the support as I grow the channel!

@@FixItWithMe If it's corded get whatever you can get the best deal on. Solid affordable options: Bauer- Harbor Freight Kobalt, Craftsman- Lowe's Wen, Avid Power, Worx- Amazon If you're going cordless and already in battery platform stick with it. If you're not in a platform fully evaluate the line of tools you think will best meet your needs across the board. Once you've made that decision get the appropriate multi tool in that line. Pros with lots of tools can benefit from multiple battery platforms, but for the average DIY'er it can get to be a money dump. Battery platform considerations: DeWalt XR and Atomic lines. Milwaukee M12 and M18 lines. Makita LXT and CXT lines. Top tier tools, but expensive. Metabo HPT. Pro level tools at a value price. Small hand tool lineup includes the core DIY tools, but is otherwise limited. Ryobi One+HP line. Good quality tools for DIY, affordable pricing. Most extensive lineup of all, including many outdoor equipment (ODE) tools. Skil PWRcore. Good DIY core tools in 18 & 12 V at a good price. Limited ODE, with most jumping platforms to 40V. Best bang for the buck: Pick a platform and get a combo kit that includes the multi-tool, Drill-Driver, Impact Driver, and whatever. For wood, almost any blade will serve well if you take care of it, including Harbor Freight blades. For heavier use the Diablo blades are great.

In my experience, these are the most expensive blades. I wouldnt call it operator error when nails are hiding in wood and its hit or miss when cutting. The blades labeled nail embedded wood still burn up on nails. I buy straight blades in bulk. I keep 2 round blades 1 carbide, one non carbide. If i find a nail in my wood, i switch to a bulk blade. If possible, i dont even use a multitool on the nail. My 1st go to would be my hackzall, then maybe jig saw, or grinder, last up would be multi tool.

These comparison videos are super valuable. Thank you! My only constructive feedback would be take a little more time to make realistic cuts. Maybe it is for your use case (I don't know); usually I want straight cuts or something follows a line closely, doesn't overshoot corners etc. Long blades wobble more but gives you reach when you need it (trade-olff). Isn't an angle grinder the better tool for those nails (if you have the room)?

Hey thanks! Yeah i'm still learning how to make better content, appreciate the feedback. A grinder would be better......but I was just showing the capabilities of these blades over all.

I dont know where this pricing info is coming from? He stated 2 diablo carbide blades for $13. I just saw a 3 pack for $40. I paid $28 dollars for a single round carbide blade. Everytime i use it, i pray its not the last time. Im extremeley careful with it, and it has lasted 1 whole job so far, which i found suprising. I have burnt through 2 $26 dollar non carbide round blades, and 4-5 straight blades. So far this job has eaten around $100 in multi tool blades. Meanwhile the $100 dollar blades on my table saw and chop saw have survived 2+ years. Multi tool blades and hacksaw blades are the most expensive in my experience. Mainly because of how fast they can die.

Home depot, multiple times a year as part of special sales. 2 for 1 pricing. I stock up on them every time. Prices as diff depending what market you're in or where you shop. I gain nothing by lying about something so small and trivial.
@brandonhoffman4712
@brandonhoffman4712 2 ай бұрын
@ProToolsApproved I'm not saying your lying at all. I'm just noticing a cost discrepancy. We are 5 months later down the road from when you posted your video. Times change... I'm not even certain if the Houthi's were messing up global shipping back then? But they are now. The ways costs can increase on products is fairly diverse and can escalate rapidly. I'm just happy 3/4" cdx ply is back to $38/sheet. I am also in southern California. Though I'm not certain how much that affects home depot pricing.
@ProToolsApproved
@ProToolsApproved 2 ай бұрын
Copy that, and fully understand. Yeah, ply jumped tire the roof out here on the east coast(Philly) as well. Over night prices double sometimes without rhyme or reason.

Couple tips for you: Get a tripod or a helper to hold the camera When trying to get things in focus, you need to have something large-ish at the same plane as the subject... Holding your hand behind the subject works pretty good
