The sad thing about George Stacy's dying words here: -He told Peter to 'leave Gwen out of it'. He never told Peter to stay away from her, just to not involve her in his activities as Spider-Man. It was Peter that interpreted it that way. -He called what was going to happen if he didn't.

Its a good point but that is not what he means. Think about it this way, if the villain can’t get the hero, they will always go for the loved ones. So if Peter left gwen, he would have no weak points. He should have left gwen and continue his life as a vigilante. There is no way you can be a hero and protect the peoppe around you. Gwen died because of it. So in more than one way, either he leaves the lifestyle of spidey and stay with her, or remain with no significant other for a more robust spidey. Spidey’s only weakness is his loved ones. Without them, he can even defeat carnage and venom.

That’s what I love about the fight scenes in this movie. Spider-Man moves more like a bug here than Toby ever did and he utilize the environment to aid him in his combat style

I think Connor didn't wanted to kill Gwen's father, he just wanted to stop him while he is lunching his bomb, and expected Gwen's father to turn into a lizard to " regen ", but when he noticed, his bomb wasn't lunched, he imediatly worried for Gwen's father because he knew he wouldn't be able to heal

5:32 , 7:15 and 7:42 I’ve never understood why Connors loses the arm all over again when the Lizard DNA leaves his system. If it physically regenerates the arm, (unless it were amputated again), why can’t he keep the new arm? Does his body reject it like an organ transplant? Then again, if he kept the arm he might have to keep the tail too. Also, real lizards don’t regrow actual limbs. Some can regrow a lost tail, but it wouldn’t be as functional or as useful as the original. I looked it up. Starfish actually can regrow large portions of their body, but who wants to see a villain or hero called “The Starfish”?

Try watching the cartoon version. Apparently Dr. Conners will have a similar behavior just like Bruce Banner. In the cartoon version, whenever Dr. Conners get angry, he becomes a lizard. When Bruce Banner becomes angry, he becomes The Hulk.

Well, if Oscorp made genetically enhanced spiders, we can likely assume the lizards had some genetic enhancement done (in other words, they could potentially regenerate entire limbs besides the tail, let alone with restored full function again).

I am just going to get this over with because I’m tired of actually seeing the same statements over and over again when it comes to the scene; I just can’t believe that it needs explaining. So the reason why the liquid nitrogen was really effective against the lizard just now is because he’s a lizard, a reptile. And what is it about reptiles? They are cold-blooded meaning that they cannot produce their own body heat like we mammals do; they need to rely on the environmental temperatures in order to heat up or cool down. However when they’re under extreme cold conditions their muscles start to slow up and if their muscles start to slow up they have no choice but to slow up as well. A reptile cannot eat, cannot fight, and cannot meet while under extreme cold conditions if it’s going to slow down their muscles; they would die

If anybody is still around in the comment section, could you tell me if Peter could have saved Captain Stacy if he gave him a dose of what Dr. Conners took to become the lizard? It would heal him, wouldn't it? And, if they were to make an antidote, and the captain had his grave wounds healed, would they be reversed when he would take the antidote?

Spiderman movies where he had a fight he almost always had the odds against him. Tobey's spider almost lost against Sand man and venom, Andrew's spiderman almost lost against Lizard, and even Holland's almost lost against Mysterio. It shows that even the most amazing superhero like Spiderman he is still mortal and has weakness, but after got beaten down he still goes on to the fight.

I mean if you watched the movie he was clearly struggling just moving from one building to the next because he constantly has to run on the walls. With the cranes he was able to swing without having to use his legs as much therefore making it easier. If you think about it if you swing from a building from the right you're not gonna go straight instead your gonna go towards the direction the web was at which was why Peter had to utilize his legs more when the cranes weren't there.

@@Spacemonkeymojo The cranes dont line up just for the sake of it, Its a father asking all the crane workers to line them up because Spider man saved his son at the bridge incident, which also has double meaning because it represents the support of the city for Spider man, along with the police, cause if you saw the movie, it is also one of the plot points.

Then what about The Hulk. I remember watching the cartoon Spiderman way back in the 90s. I will say Dr. Conners in the cartoon version does act like Bruce Banner because if by pissing Dr. Conners off, Dr. Conners will turn into a lizard. What happens if anyone pissing Bruce Banner off? Bruce Banner becomes The Hulk. Both Conners and Banner are scientist where if they get mad, they turn into a monster. So as a kid, that lizard always reminds me that the behavior like him sounds like Hulk. The part about being angry and then transforming.

Why do super villains always do that? Why always have a timer on some specific device to actually have a timer until something is activated or released? I don’t care if it’s an excuse in order for the protagonist and the antagonist text you have a fight together to make it more climactic with a countdown in progress they will raise the stakes. Instead if the villain was smart lizard should’ve released the gas immediately as he put it in no timer, and let everyone get turned into lizards including Spider-Man. Think about it, think about how awesome the fuck would be if there is a Spider-Man that has both spider and lizard abilities altogether and one fighting against the lizard in the final showdown? After the lizard is defeated Peter actually injects the antidote into the device and turns everyone back from lizards to humans including himself

Well it had a timer because it was warming up. Every device that releases something on a huge scale will need to warmup before it can send the object. Also if spiderman did turn into a lizard then the storyline would just go to shit imo.

The Serum that changes you into a 🦎 also changes your mental state. Making someone aggressive and dangerous even if they're not when in human form. Dr. Connors is actually a good guy trying to help mankind until the serum alters his mental state. Should've been more police helping on that roof though. Just sayin.

Also because that's how McGuffins work, and because the lizard thing makes people evil. Yes it's kinda stupid, but it also gives a clear objective to the fight, and to the plot generally. This is how writing works, it's not perfect, but it is necessary.

the real peter 1 (tobey) and peter 2 (andrew) spiderman movies will always be better than the holland trilogy. things you might have not noticed or appreciated back then but now you do because of the mcu/holland movies. for example new york/the people helping out spiderman like in the original and andrews spiderman movies

I never understood the purpose of moving the cranes in a certain spot for him to swing. He had buildings there

With the crane arms hanging over the avenue, it's way easier for Spider-Man to web and swing straight-on.

@@DaRealCheezy he could still swing from the same buildings that the cranes are on. Him being shot doesn’t really effect where he can swing from

@@MajorDude14 when he swings on buildings, his body leans towards the building the web is on. Which is why he uses his legs to turn and keep away from crashing into the building. The cranes provide him with a narrow path which means he doesn’t need to worry about turning. You can see him crashing into the building earlier in the scene and how much he’s in pain. Especially since he’s been Spider-Man for not that long

So why does Spider-Man need a line of cranes when there are more than enough skyscrapers for him to websling in a straight line to Oscorp Tower? Also why did he need the police to halt traffic when he regularly swings like 150+ feet above the streets?

He didn't need the policeman to stop the traffic, but Captain Stacey wanted to aid in any way he could and as for the cranes, if you had noticed, his powers were not working well. He was struggling with wall crawling to begin with and he could not run straight or jump properly. Spider-Man saved the man's son. He could never thank him enough, but he could do this for him, and gave him a straight line right to Oscorp.

@@Edward-nf4nc I actually dont remember him having trouble with wall crawling or running and jumping. Im gonna have to rewatch this movie in full.

It was just after he was shot. He kept slipping, hobbling and falling. His powers seem to have recovered by the time he reached Oscorp, but he was certainly more effected than he should have been.

he was shot in the leg and he needs them for mobility so it’s hard for him here. Cranes give him a narrow path. Also the cop stopped the taxi cause he saw Spider-Man coming in swinging low. You could see how low he swung there and would’ve hit the car if it went through
