I was here from May-August 1989 and saw the Master twice during gatherings in Buddha hall, but he did not say anything as, we were told, he was too ill. It was not too very long before the end. I'll never forget that time in my life. I lived outside the ashram, worked in the cafeteria, played a talent show, did Encounter and Primal and Tantra groups, and just let it all wash over me. I met so many cool people from all over the world. Lived on a mattress on a floor for $50 a month. I wrote in my journal three times a day because so much stuff would happen. One time I met a Ma during a dance and we danced in silence, had tea in silence, went home and cuddled in silence and "said goodbye" in silence the next morning. I never saw her again. This is just one of the incredible things that would happen when people gather in peace and meditation and non-seriousness. 🙏 I hope to visit again one day.

I was a 14 year old boy in Pune at this time. We at that time did not understand what was going on in Koregaon Ashram. We thought it was a place of Junkies. The Pyramids were indeed build later. The meditation center and the beautiful Garden was build and its still there. No Discos were build. Today I am in my 40s and I live in West and I understand Osho. He was far ahead of times. The world did not understand him at the time. What a great man.

Osho's ideas are spreading like a fire all over the world. Thanks to the haters, who are the chief instrument of spreading the words of Osho. Hope some day, the world attains Peace & Awareness.

Hi, operator of this channel, if you’re reading this: please post Osho’s earlier videos from the days in Puna, before he started wearing the hat. I think a lot of people will find that period of his teaching extremely beneficial and somewhat contrasting to his later stuff in certain ways. I’ve recently come across many old videos (Philosophia Perrenis for example) and it was a beautiful time period of the commune. Thank you. I love Osho.

Please allow me to write the notes here, to remind me when i come back to this video from time to time : 1, Remember that you are a Buddha. Sammasati 2. it's his presence which is critical, to the buddhafield. That's what makes it a buddhafield. It is his presence which is all important. 3. To be blissful, alone and self-sufficient 4. to create the most beautiful spiritual health club in the world. the center of transformation to have every possible kind of therapy and all kinds of trainings 5. We are not just a religious center, religiousness will be our very atmosphere. We are going to create The Garden of the Beloved One 6. We are not setting up a commune, we came here as self-sufficient individuals. Self-suffiency as a community. The ashram is not an institution. It is a meeting place for friends.It is nobody's monopoly. We are all creating it. It is our common project. And in every possible way everyone should contribute to it. The ashram does not want to be begging for money from outside, so we should all be supporing the ashram, rather than asking the ashram to support us. 7. Sannyasins should not be economically dependent on the ashram because economic dependence takes away some dignity and grace from the man, it creates fear and insecurity in the eyes of the sannyasins. 8. Grace and dignity comes when we are not dependent on anybody. when we are working out of our joy, out of our abundance, out of our love for Osho. And that has a very different quality. Not a quality of fear and insecurity that we are working because we would like food and rent to be paid. We work here out of our abundance and joy and out of our love for him. And he would like that people come and go, they stay here as long as their visa and finance allows them.

I think that the commune was a great idea. The commune was not creating dependence by disciples upon its resources. The resources were created by disciples, - disciples who worked 12 or more hours a day to construct it. Osho saw a commune as an advancement of his vision. The vision of Zorba the Buddha. What he described as "Communes of the Rich" was spot on. A good idea does not become impracticable because the management were immature and reckless. America simply was not fertile ground for the project. Eco villages are the way through humanity's non-sustainable impasse. It is just a matter of calculating exactly what is the maximum functional size and capacity of each "village" should be. Osho had previously already stated what he saw as being the maximum population size of each self-sufficient community. Osho has said that "Sheela never listened (to me)" Osho also should never have listened to Sheela. The commune would have been better placed in somewhere else in India or Costa Rica. or many other places.
