The fact is Chelsea have won 4 major trophies in the last 4yrs since Arteta arrived. It doesn't matter where you are in the table it's about what you WIN. Last 10yrs??? Arsenal's net spend in the last 10yrs is only second to Uniteds at 995M. You've won 4 trophies for that while Chelsea have won trophies 8 major trophies in the last 10yrs.

they're trying to sell Broja for 35-50 mil (pure profit) Maatsen for 35 mil (pure profit Chalobah for 30-40 mil (pure profit) and maybe even Gallagher for 50+ mil (pure profit) thats 150 mil at the lowest and is all profit since they all came through the academy we could easily get osimhen even if we dont sell gallagher

(Chelsea fan) I think so as well Osimhen will be coming in summer. I'm not saying it out of arrogance or something else, I'm just looking at what he's saying, and other factors around Europe. Not many teams are able to afford Osimhen. Arsenal would make sense, but finances aren't right and like you said you need to other positions to reinforce. What Osimhen has been saying about growing up and Drogba shows he does have an interest even the slightest. He's been talking to many ex-Chelsea players. It seems like a match made. Player comes to a club he grew up on and likes for his own reasons and the club wants a top tier striker to led them. I think Osimhen would be huge for Chelsea for the many years to come.

Can Chelsea afford him with FFP though? A release clause means the transfer must be paid in full £105m. There's a reason they've been splitting transfers over 8 years, they'll have to sell very well to afford this transfer.

Can anyone actually afford his release clause which needs to be paid up front in one payment? This is a difficult transfer. Also ffp is a rolling measurement so there's no certainty that whilst this season was tight that next season will be.

The thing that bothers Arsenal fans the most is they can't figure how Chelsea get the players that are up to both clubs. For the last 6 years Arsenal fans blamed no UCL but Chelsea got Enzo Caiedo Lavia and now it appears Oshimen to come with no UCL. I tell Arsenal fans that say they are the "bigger club" all the time. i think they could! Ange seems to have a pull that past managers haven't had, and they certainly have the funds, although it doesn't strike me as a spurs signing to be honest. Levy is incredibly unwilling to spend over 70 million on a player. not impossible, but quite unprobeable. Tbh I’d also take zirkzee but regardless, arsenal are going to need to be on it in the summer. We need the striker to be the right one, a midfielder like Douglas Luiz is essential and we are desperately missing a world class keeper. That’s the spine of the team. I actually thought ramsdale was that guy. Premier league team of the year, yashin trophy nominee etc however we replaced him with raya who isn’t top level and ramsdale has looked a shell ever since. At this point id take top 4 and a CL quarter final. Perhaps I am being pessimistic

You say "Chelsea have been lingering around mid table the last few seasons"... Last 5 seasons Chelsea have finished: 3rd, 4th, 4th, 3rd and 12th. And in that time picked up a Champions League, Europa League, Super Cup and made numerous other cup finals. Arsenal's last 5 season finishes have been: 5th, 8th, 8th, 2nd. They've won the FA Cup and been to one other final from memory. So who has been hovering mid table last few seasons again? Yes Arsenal are on a great trajectory, but don't get ahead of yourselves. This season ain't over yet and in seasons to, come let's just see what actually happens. You even coming out with "Chelsea are a big club and should remain"... Jesus, talking down your nose from one 2nd placed finish, when Liverpool, City, Chelsea, Utd and Spurs were all either in major turmoil or had thier worst seasons for years and you still didn't do it. Have some humility mate.

Relax, I’ve been very complimentary to Chelsea. This season Chelsea are 9th, Arsenal are 3rd. Last season we were 2nd, you were somewhere in midtable again. So “last few” is very accurate. Also, I was saying that SOME people might put that argument towards me, so you should listen to what I’m saying. And my rebuttal to anyone who says that is that Chelsea are still a massive club and I expect them to be competitive. So it’s very complimentary, you’ve just chosen to take offence to this

@@eddietee6305it don't matter they are only changing it from 8 to max 5 so with amortisation osimhen would be about 21m pounds a year

Fantastic analysis James. To be honest I'd take Toney over Osimen at Arsenal any day and here are my reasons: 1. Toney is PL proven and wont need any time adapting. 2. The fee for Toney of course will be lower than Osimen 3. Age cheating is still a real thing among African players and I can bet my head on it that Osimen's actual age is not 25years(I'd assume he's at least 28yrs) 4. I've watched Osimen play in person (Ghan vs Nigeria) and I do not think he is a better Striker than Toney 5. Not many African (bar a few exceptional cases) players smash if around that age and it is mostly due to point 3👆 6. Toney seem to love Arsenal anyway. Thank you James.

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm not sure I agree with all that but I do prefer Toney slightly... Osimhen looks superb though, and if we get him I'd imagine we've got the structure to get a lot out of him
