You are recording 60fps? But I would say ND16 for sunny days, and 8 may be down to 4 for cloudy days. But you would have to experiment and see. You should buy the full range up to 32 at least.

Thanks Henrik for this clear presentation on ND filters. I wondered if, with the Osmo Pocket, ND filters could also be used to increase the bokeh effect when shooting a subject, as they reduce the amount of light hitting the sensor. To your experience what would be the distance of the subject to achieve a nice effect ? Thanks for your answer.
@TECHDRONEMEDIA

Bokeh is a result of shallow depth of field, so filters won’t help you here.

Great video! Even on some cloudy days, using an nd64 on my pocket, I still can’t get the the shutter speed 1/2x my frame rate shooting at iso 100 and 30fps. Best I can do is about. 1/100 for shutter speed. This is still better than the 1/1000 when putting it in auto without a filter. Should I go up to even a higher filter like nd 128 or 256

With 60 it’s possible to slow down the footage, but it takes a lot of space. most of the time I would say 24 or 30 would be fine.

Bought freewell nd filtersafter watching your video but my Osmo pocket is behaving weird when compared to your tutorial. In manual settings, I kept my shutter speed twice the frame rate (1/50 ss for 24fps) but when I change the iso to 100 my video footage is getting too dark. It is expecting at least iso 800 for having the right exposure with 1/50 ss. Could you please explain where I'm going wrong? Only if my exposure shoots up I need nd filters but instead, my exposure is going too low.

TECH DRONE MEDIA Thanks for your reply. Btw, what I meant in my comment was my footage is getting darker when I make the shutter speed twice the framerate (even without the nd filter). That is when I reduce the shutter speed to 1/50 (for 24fps) and if I set the iso 100 the exposure is not blown out instead my exposure is becoming darker. With 1/50 shutter speed, my footage is having enough exposure only if I set my ISO to 800. Still there is no use of nd filters for me. Can you please explain why is this happening?
@xXxevoVII
@xXxevoVII 4 жыл бұрын
@@prashanthpg you only can make us of nd-filters in (too) bright scenarios like on a hot/sunny day. Else your image/video will be too dark and you have to increase the iso anyway (like you did).
