I disagree Kirk in that most of these Ohio guys who are flocking to Oregon right now are not doing so just because Oregon has joined the B1G or because they're more aware of the west coast, etc. It's simply because a big bag of cash was thrown their way from Nike essentially. Ask most of these guys to find Oregon on a map and they couldn't so that's all it really is. Because Oregon has been a trendy program for much of the past 20 years and even then you couldn't get top guys from in-state here to go there. If a top prospect from the state of Ohio was choosing between TOSU and Oregon, we were usually always confident we'd win that battle. I think Adolphus Washington had Oregon in his final three picks and chose us at his high school days before Urban Meyer took over here as HC. Oregon's always had a boatload of money and resources out there but it was never enough to sway guys from the far reaches of the country to go there. until NIL became a thing and they hired a used car truck salesman such as Danny Boy Lanning who has convinced them he's bringing Bama and Georgia to the Pacific Northwest. That's what we have to fight back against. moving forward.
