Why does everybody insist on being loyal only to metal or even to one artist. I can truly appreciate the symbolism and social commentary in Otep's work, however I can just as equally see the merit in some of Gaga's work. Both are talented musicians and both have something to say about society. How about we stop trying to judge music. Its a very openly subjective art-form. We all have our preferences and none of us is right.

I remember being at a dance or some bullshit for like a summer camp maybe? They put on “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and I headbanger myself into a righteous neck ache the next day. LOL. It was delicious freedom, I was able to let out all that pent up emotion. Maybe the happiest memory I have from childhood. Otep rocks!

I used to listen to Otep casually but I'm going to check 'em out. This is one of the best covers of a Nirvana song out there. I love when metal bands cover Nirvana (also see Fear Factory's cover of "School").

I always thought that a metal remake of a grunge would be tricky to do but tbh when Otep came out with this I was amazed.

dude i live in seattle Washington and i go to the tribute concerts to Nirvana every time they have one . and by far she has done the best cover i have heard a metal band do this is great and even if you think this is crap Kurt would do random covers songs and they somtimes were bad look up Nirvana cover The End by the doors :P hes playing around in that song and OTEP Rules!
