In a far-reaching interview, Pharrell talks to Soulja Boy about the trajectory of his life and music, which has been the result of an online savviness that began nearly two decades ago. “I feel like the internet was kind of my only choice to get my music out. I couldn’t get it on radio. I couldn’t get it on TV,” Soulja Boy explains. “And even if I did get my song on the radio, they’ll play at one time of the day or if I got it on TV, they’ll play at one time out of the day. And I'm just like, ‘Yo, we got to attack this internet because they can watch the music video a hundred times at two in the morning or three in the afternoon.’ So that's what really made me attack the internet the way I did at an early age.” He also details the highlights of his storied career and his ambitions for the future-which include a book-and more.
