Wonderful articulation of facts by Adv. Amollo. The stupidity & irrationality of submissions & arguments by the respondents is unbelievable to anyone with a modicum of legal knowledge. The chair of the electoral commission exhibited shameful incompetence. I'm not surprised how he got his job.

IEBC Lawyers failed to explain the ~500,000 variance between the presidential vote and the other seats in the 6 ballots. The IEBC had offered a pretty good argument yesterday. But today Ngatia made a complete hash of it. It's laughable even when you come to think of it and the likely implications!

I hope this went into Kenya's law books as a case study. Fascinating at best. And after all this, a boycott, and then a handshake. What an anticlimax. They couldn't open the servers to public scrutiny, because someone tinkered. End of story

I lost respect for that PLO guy after this case. He well knew the elections were rigged, but deliberately chose to defend the IEBC. He chose the fat cheque at the expense of justice. It only proved he is not different from the despots he was representing. So hypocritical. It wasn't a surprise they terribly lost the case ...

Like many others,PLO was an iebc lawyer engaged to defend his client..The spirit that guides real lawyers in a court room is the experience in law practice, acquired knowledge in school and of course inborn wisdom (solomonic wisdom). I don't think there was any lawyer/ judge chasing money in this particular case. Both counsels articulated matters law and facts for the court to determine. If iebc is never defended by strong brilliant legal minds, the likes of PLO, Githu muigai and many others, every presidential election would always be nullified. The scok judges are equally highly intelligent to separate wheat from chaff on listening to representations. The right of the people to vote can't be left to scok judges. That would be very grave. General Election is a process and not an event.

PLO would do well to become a church pastor and a motivational speaker. By that I am not saying being a preacher and motivational speaker is a lesser calling. Nope. As a matter of fact, PLO addressed the legal issues in a way to persuade the court to agree with him. He cited legal authorities, and showed that the petitioners did not prove their case. This counsel to the petitioner is simply pointing out the errors of the electoral commission. By the way he is saying it is probable he did not prove his case as alleged by PLO. While stating the inconsistency in the forms, I was expecting him to cite the consequences of the inconsistencies, but he failed to do that. Even if the electoral statute did not provide for the consequence, he should have persuaded the court, using other relevant cases to call for the cancellation of the result. Based on their presentation, PLO spoke law, the petitioner's counsel merely recited facts. Meanwhile in the court rules, the reply is meant to address legal points and not facts. What he ought to do is to debunk the legal authorities of PLO and not mere recital of facts.

Yes, he might be a good lawyer but the problem with him is that he tries to masquerade as a civil rights champion fighting for truth and justice while he has clearly demonstrated that he works for the highest bidder and accepts blood money at the expense of the of the weak and marginalized. He cannot be a Martin Luther King, Jr. and turn a blind eye or a deaf ear to injustice at the same time! It is MLK who said, "Injustice somewhere is injustice everywhere."
