Thank you for sharing! My father always played this every year growing up while we trimmed the Christmas tree. He died September 23, 2021 at the age of 89, just before he turned 90. My 91 year old mother is still alive and we listened to this while trimming the first tree without him in their 68 years together. It was very sad, but very wonderful I could find this to play! No way to play the old reel to reel!

2:16 Possibly the funniest Benny scream I've heard.

I was hoping to find this and I did not know what date or year. I have remembered Jack's Merry Christmas greeting for quite a while. That prayer was classic thank you

For those not aware, Larry Stevens was brought in to fill in for Dennis Day, who was off fighting in The War.

Crazy times. So glad he was able to serve and come back safe.

It's amazing how many celebrities went off to fight, came back and picked up where they left off. That's one reason they're called the greatest generation.

Day, a Lieutenant, J.G. in the Navy, did not serve in combat. Rather, he toured the Pacific entertaining troops as a singer and comedian. This is not to take away from his service, as he volunteered his time and talent for over two years. I just wanted to point out that his duties were focused on maintaining moral, not on fighting.

At 21:10, we go from Jack Benny the penny pincher cheapskate miser character, to Benjamin Kubelsky, the man with a heart of gold, in an instant. Beautiful toast. Wish hollyweird and show business was this way towards our military on a pretty much universal scale like it was during The War.

I would like to see Colin Kaepernick listen to Jack's toast

It's amazing how everyone's voices sound so different from the Christmas 1941 radio show. They sound more mature, more natural, and not as "radio-y" in this one. Do you think it was The War that caused everyone to grow a little and sound more grown up and more serious? Just the tone and way they speak is noticeably different to my ears.

Guess it would be from the war and it called for a more serious time. Would be kind of hard to joke around when so many were suffering.
