This video prompted me to check out the 2020 draft…. Man why did we take Jarventie over Peterka who went right after Jarventie, especially having taken Stutzle 3rd overall. Fellow German. And Brock Faber going right after Kleven. Imagine coming out of the 2020 draft with Stutzle, Sanderson, Peterka and Faber.

Peterka I’ll give you since he was ranked higher than Järventie and was seen as the better prospect, but nobody expected Faber to be this good. If a team took him top20 at the time it would’ve been seen as a massive reach.

I know. That still pisses me off. Paterka and Stutzle played together and are good buddies. Why the Sens management feel they always gotta swing for the fences during drafts is beyond me. Paterka is a damn good player in the NHL, too. They took Boucher over Sillinger, ffs; more than likely because of his daddy, I'd say.

I agree with Pillzy on the draft picks. Doesn't matter what I thought of them prior to the draft, all that matter is he's a Sens player and I will always cheer for him and his success.

I’m the same way. I still am not a fan of the Eliasson pick at all and feel like they left some value on the board with Yakemchuk, but they are Sens prospects wrong and I hope all of them have good, long careers.

IMO, they should keep the remaining cap space as very valuable leverage at the trade deadline to pick up the kind of piece that can push them into the playoffs if they are near it.

Dont want norris to not be at center, but also want them to do whatever to protect his shoulder. If that means move him to wing, so be it

When I think of Sokolov as "getting a bit old" and then quickly realise he's younger than my daughter... Quite like the trade to be honest.

100% agree with Pilzy on the philosophy of Dorion versus Staios. In the past, I felt PD was making star splash signings/trades while hoping all the individual personnel moves would work out. PD's moves also seemed rushed. This is in contrast to a slower, steadier and more calculated approach used by Staios. This doesn't mean Staios will have made better decisions. Time will tell regarding that. Immediate reaction: (1) Getting Ullmark in, Korpi out and PInto signed are wins. (2) The Chychrun deal I'm unsure about. Did we get too little in return? (3) For Joseph I'm guessing we needed to generate cap space for the Pinto signing plus other potential signings. However, did we pay too much to get that relief?

That was the actual market value. Chychrun is close to being a rental while Joseph is an overpaid Colin greening.

@@TwentyOne_Five😂😂😂. He was one of the only players on the team with speed. Did you know that if you have speed you can take time and space away from opponent. The modern game is all about speed. I think it was a complete mistake and he was finally becoming a decent player at a low cap hit... thats called depth. Can't win without it.

@@user-md3ij9oc9q Colin Greening won the fastest skater event during the Sens skills competition. He’s literally the same player. Same attributes. Same points. They just paid Joseph so much more. Tampa never used him and flipped him.

If I was in Stenes shoes,I would be moving Norris and Kubalik for a top line center or a power forward left wing.I think that's his next move.

Last year this team started the season with Chartier at 3C and only 11 forwards because they didn't have enough cap for a full roster. This forward group is undoubtedly better than that. As for RD additions i wonder if they could grab Justin Schultz if he stays unsigned. Made 3M last year and ended with good expected metrics, but not great actual metrics. If they can grab him at like 1.8M they can make the cap work. Shattenkirk would be another choice that would come cheaper.

Love Egor but I hope he gets a legit shot at the NHL in Utah and play against the Sens big club. He deserves it and wish him nothing but the best.

I don’t want Norris being sheltered at wing, if his shoulder can’t take being a C and taking face offs then he’s not worth the contract we’re paying him and he’s simply not physically capable of an NHL career anymore. I hate to say it but this is Norris’ 3rd (!!) shoulder surgery, and at his age, unfortunately this means this is the year we find out if he still has an NHL career. If Norris’ shoulder goes again, that’s the end of his career and insurance takes over and the team has a ton of cap space back. Personally, I don’t think Norris plays the full season, I don’t think he’s ever been durable again since his first injury. When he was playing last year he was playing in an incredibly sheltered manner. I love the guy and I’m not wishing for this but just a reality check. We don’t have a legitimate 2C and to me that’s actually our biggest hole.

We have to give some time to see how the Staios era is going to shape up. He needs to change up what Dorion did and well that hasn't been pretty yet but we need to show some patience. The complete bitching up to this point is well just pointless
