I keep thinking how cute his face is and how similar it is to a cat's!

He finally got used to the water, what a brave lad. I appreciate that you have not been forceful with the pup and found a way to entice him into doing it on his own; otter moms are usually excessively foreceful with their kids, so much so that it may look like they are purposefully trying to drown them.
@kawaiikawauso64275 жыл бұрын
I do agree that it is the main reason why otter mothers go about teaching this way. It has to be said though that otter mothers can be akward and clumsy at times bumping into rocks and whatnot while carrying the pup, so it is not only because of the pressure of their natural habitat, they are probably not agile enough to do it better. I am really impressed to see so many English comments here; it seems that Bingo has got into the top trending videos. How did you manage to find this backwater (pun intended) channel?

In the wild otter parents will hold their pups by the neck and pull them under water. Repeatedly dunking them until they figure it out. Haha this was far more playful and peaceful a way to learn.

Aww. Poor Bingo doesn't know he's supposed to be swimming. But he's still a little cutie. I saw how he eventually began to love it. Some little animals don't know what they're meant for when people raise them. But it's adorable and kinda funny when they see that it's not so bad.

I know that wild animals are best in the wild but damn it everytime i watch an otter video i want to instantly run out and get one!!!!! They are some of the cutest, funniest, most playful animals i have ever seen!!!

spartanmikek a river otter much better option because it's tamed and human friendly. This one is asian river otter. The sea otter might not a good choices tho
@HilmyA.S.5 жыл бұрын
spartanmikek how do you know its best? I'd rather be a pet of someone rich than fighting for my life every single second in the wild
@SEJ33335 жыл бұрын
Donut Donut I agree! As humans continue to destroy the "wild" it really has become a myth that animals belong there. Good owners who care for them daily are actually helping to keep species alive!
@thabuneni26nxaa5 жыл бұрын
SEJ3333 lol no, they stand a better chance multiplying in the wild coz there they can breed freely but when a human owns one he/she sterilises it... So no, us keeping them isn't keeping the species alive, it is keeping that single one alive.
@SEJ33335 жыл бұрын
thabuneni26nxaa That's assuming they live long enough in the wild to breed. Snd in fact there are actually owners who don't sterilize and in fact breed their "wild" animals. But they then risk being ridiculed for breeding as well.

Baby otters don't have hydrophobic fur (hence why its important to dry them soon after, they can get hypothermia easily) until they're about 12 weeks and are usually afraid of water until they're older but you're being really gentle and doing a good job of teaching him it seems. Cute baby ;;;

Please don't do that. In the wild they are very dangerous to swin with. In Brazil the "ariranha" (giant otter) already killed people in zoos, and eventually hunt and kill alligators. The small species are dangerous too.
