Even though my "now husband" and I lived in the same town and even attended the same Church, I was never aware of him until I was invited to a small group event. I "noted" him. After that we attended the same "college & careers" group. It became complicated when I found out my roommate had a crush on him. But he asked me out after some time and we snuck away on dates to the city so none of our peers knew we were dating. I got my first kiss from him! A major family vehicle accident and some time later we ended up getting married. What a great guy! We are now married for 35 years.

I tested up through the whole video. The smile on your face shows how happy you still are. I've been married nearly 8 years and I could not agree more- the tiny details of the day don't matter to anyone but a bride before the wedding... and you won't even remember them years later.

All so sweet! I haven't met anyone that was engaged as long as me and my husband. We were engaged for 2 years and 2 months. We never set a date and it was just open-ended because my husband didn't want to set a time. He's 20 years older than me and he wanted me to really think about what I was getting myself into. After two years, I told him that we either get married or we stop being engaged and just stay boyfriend/girlfriend. (as much as a 40 year old and 60 year old can be boyfriend/girlfriend.) He finally said let's go ahead and we married Nov. 1, 2002. So, last Nov. 2022, we celebrated our 20th anniversary.

Happy Anniversary! Thanks for sharing. Our story is similar to yours (except for the 3 years of engagement💎) We met, feel in love, engaged and married all within a short period of time. We now have been married 55 years and counting. ❤️

What a beautiful love story! Made me tear up when I heard Canon in D, I walked down the aisle almost 37 years ago to my beloved and 2 of my daughters walked down the aisle to theirs. Blessings, Marnie❤️

Beautiful Marnie! I am a faithful viewer, but a non-faithful comment contributor. :) This ones compels me to comment. Firstly, congratulations on 20 years with your love!! What a beautiful witness of love to a world riddled with discourse. Secondly, we have so many similar experiences in our love stories. We celebrate 25 years in December, so a smidgen longer, but many of the details are similar. Chip and I met at a camp, love at first sight and a knowing straight away, dress oh so simple and lovely, Canon in D played as I walked the aisle to my love, two houses and several apartments later, two children (one girl, one boy) several dogs and a menagerie of other critters later and we are still writing our love story as well! May God continue to bless your marriage and your family!

Best take away: its the man not the ring, so true. I had my beloved deceased grandmothers 2 carat diamond already so had no need of or desire for a diamond engagement ring but the MAN, my grandmother would have adored, as I do STILL, almost 40 yrs later!

I walked down the aisle to Pacabel's Canon in D Major also! But it was in 1976...we literally discovered the beautiful piece a couple of nights before and changed everything around at the very last minute... all everyone asked was ,"where did you get that music"?? A few years later I believe, it was used in a GE lightbulb commercial... and became quite popular. Still, hearing it today, happy tears..thanks for sharing. It's good to remember those times.. young and innocent days.

We too, walked down the aisle to Pachabel's Canon in D major, but in 1970. We knew we would get married after dating for 7 weeks, so 49 days! That was in 1967. I was 15, he was 17, so 18 and 20 when we married. It's now 2022, we've been married 52 years. Three children, 9 grands, one great grandchild. And we love each other more every day. And "they" said it wouldn't work!

So much fun to relive your love story with you, Marnie. I've been watching you for about six years now, so although I knew many of the "how we met details" it was great to see the throwback pictures of your dating years and wedding. It's no easy feat to make a marriage last these days, let alone for 23 years. It's evident watching you and Michael in your vlogs that you are just as in love today, if not more so, than you were 23 years ago on your first date! Mazel tov! Happy Anniversary tomorrow! My husband and I have been married 11 years and you're exactly right-when you know, you KNOW! Also, our youngest child, who is now 4, was born on our wedding anniversary also! I love watching your relationship on your channel because you can see the love but it's a real look and not some put on act. You can see how much you really love each other! This is so lovely! I was not familiar with Jewish wedding traditions, as a mother of the bride I love that both sets of parents play such an integral part of the ceremony. I would have loved to walk my daughter down the aisle with my husband. If the younger girl gets married, maybe we will do that.

From the first date to our engagement was six weeks and 12 weeks to our wedding! And here we are. I am hoping to take the Alaska cruise next year for our 50th Anniversary. Awe, I had to smile when you talked about your first date movie. We went and saw “Ghost” on our first date. For a long time after, “ Unchained Melody” was our song. We did have Canon in D played as family members were walked down the isle. Now, 25 years, 3 houses, 4 dogs, 3 very beautiful children, and whole lot of unexpected blessings and adventures later, I wouldn’t want to do life with anyone else. All but one of our grandparents (his Grandfather turned 96 this past March) have passed away, along with a treasured aunt and uncle. Alan Jackson’s “Remember When” is our song now. Thank you for sharing your story, and Happy belated 21st Anniversary! 💕💕

I, too, smiled during the whole video. Remembering back to my wedding over 44 years ago, was the song sung as I walked down the aisle. The band had us pick 3 songs and I assumed the Wedding March was the 4th and a given. When the singer started with "Till" by the Angels, with my parents at my side, the wedding coordinator said, ok Susan you're on..over my protests.... Our guests thought it was so original and creative... It really did turn out great and the words to the song bring tears to my eyes even after all these years. Congratulations on your anniversary! Love the idea that you now have it on video for your children and their children etc. I agree about the wedding day being so fleeting. Happy Anniversary and thanks so much for sharing your story. The thing I loved the most is when you stated that the details really don't matter.....it's all about the guy! That is SO true. My husband and I will be clocking up 25 years this November and instead of celebrating it together, he'll be on a motorbike trip with a mate on the other side of our country!!!!! (It was the only date suitable for the trip) He was very hesitant in telling me this, thinking I'd be really disappointed......but my attitude is that the details don't really matter. Seven years of dating, twenty five years of married life, 2 gorgeous girls, numerous cats (& 1 dog) and 3 houses later is what counts....what's one day when EVERY day is a celebration?!!!! What a beautiful love story! I was smiling throughout the entire video. Most couples are no longer together after 20-years (including myself), so it is so refreshing to see that not only are you both still together but you genuinely really like each other, and like spending time together and mostly the respect and kindness that you both show each other. Happy Anniversary Marnie! We are also celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary on July 5th! We have two beautiful daughters, aged 12 and 15. We still live in Montreal. A lot has changed over the last 20 years but I feel that our relationship has grown stronger because of everything we've been through together. Looking forward to what the future holds for us. We are thinking about moving to the US to provide our daughters with more opportunities. So maybe our next chapter will be set in the USA.....

I know its late but Happy Anniversary! Thank you for sharing such a beautiful story. My husband and I have been together for 19 years and married for 18 years. We was very young when we met. We met the month before my 16th birthday got married a month after my 17th birthday the following year. We had a small church wedding. He is only a year older than me. I also knew he was the man I was going to marry right after our 3rd date. When you know your in love and its meant to be you just know. Your pictures are very beautiful. You and Michael don't look all that different before and after. Here's to many more years to you and Michael.

I also wore a Jim Hjelm wedding gown in 1992! Mine was the Gown from the Estee Lauder beautiful ad, I tore it out of a magazine and since I only live 25 minutes outside NYC I went to the NYC showroom and met Mr. Hjelm. It was a cool experience. Anyway, sweet video, Mazel Tov!!!

What a beautiful story, such a wonderful keepsake for future generations .Much success in the future . We will have been married 49 yrs. in December and we have 2 men ( long past boys ) and a daughter in law and 2 grandsons . Both sets of parents are deceased and they were together until the time of their passing. Love to your family !

My brother and sister-in-law the only son was born 8 years later on their anniversary so wanted to let you know your not the only ones that shares you anniversary with one of your children. Happy Anniversary! My husband and I will be married 10 years in December, but we were together almost 10 years before getting married. We met our freshman year of college and had a lot of growing up to do. Our parents were the same way about getting our life together (bachelors and masters degree /jobs) before getting married.

Happy Anniversary! I was married 1 year before you. I walked down the aisle to the same song. I also upon meeting my hubby, went home and called a good friend and told her I just met the man I'm going to marry. We were married 3 years later!
