I can totally agree with the Iron Man part. So many good songs fell into that catagory of being overplayed, just like Metallica's Enter sandman and Lynyrd Skynyrds Free Bird. I use to like them but after hearing them a million times I feel like I can pass on them for the rest of my life and still hear them in my head

1. End of the Beginning 2. God is Dead? (I do like 13, but not those 2 tracks) 3. Paranoid (overheard and not great to begin with) 4. Iron Man (great track but burnt out) 5. Psycho Man/ Selling my Soul (don't really care for them). Frankly the rest is just outstanding. And to be fair, I think that the 8 bonus tracks off 13 would have made a much better album than the actual 13, not such a rehash of their first 4 albums. Cheers.

I agree with John about Bill and if he were on 13. It would have been a very different album and most likely for the better with Bill's input and I also agree that Damaged Soul is the best cut on the record.

They should have cut a deal with Bill to do the studio album at the very least for authenticity, & sure, have another drummer to go out on tour because of Bill's health, 13 had no soul & stank of a cash grab💲💵💲

Whiskey, I ruined myself o that in high school, haven't been able to drink it since. I like Methandemic, and pretty much most of the 8 tracks that didn't make up the core 8 songs from 13. I seem to like 13 more than many Sabbath purists. I'm still thinking about my 5. I love any Sabbath discussion, even picking on negatives.

Who Are You is a Trippy Pink Floyd type song. I always thought of the song as Electric Funeral part 2 with Synthesizer instead of guitar. It was the last Psyche Rock song from Black Sabbath.

Planet Caravan is a great Black Sabbath slab of acidrock. I think a lot of younger fans cannot comprehend that Black Sabbath was an acidrock band playing some of the heaviest tunes ever recorded. They jumped the shark in 1976 with that crappy pop metal Technical Ecstacy. What a steaming pile of crap that was. Their live shows were still good but the band was on its last legs. Saw them in Dec. 1976 in Niagara Falls N.Y. with Ted Nugent as the opener, good show you can see on KZfaq. Saw them again with Ozzy in Toronto in 1999.

Super video, guys. A pleasure to watch and learn. My intro to Technical Ecstasy and Never Say Die was that weird compilation called Rock Legends. Strangely it was only a compilation of those two albums. But it is probably the reason those two records are still my top two Sabbath releases. Heard/know of that compilation? Not sure what year it was released.

I do like Live Forever, as well as the four tunes on The End. Not only that, i hear a lot of people saying those four tunes should have been on the main record. I'm surprised you felt that negatively about those four.

1. "Take Me Home" is one of the Four songs on The End that "you like" yet, it's on your 'Bottom 5'? 2. I like Scary Dreams. 3. Yeah, I hear a lot of people saying the 4 songs on 'The End' should've been on 13...I feel "there's a reason" they weren't included. Not that most of the songs that ended up on '13' are strongly developed but the songs on 'The End' are much less so...or, just have lackluster melodies or are too by the numbers for me. Then agan, to each his own. :)

Interesting comments there. I like the 13 album and bonus tracks and it’s a great contrast to the devil you know style which I also like. Technical ecstasy has only 3 faster songs, if you don’t listen to rock n roll doctor the album will be a slow tougher listen.

Great show guys. By the way I have an updated theory on the delayed release of other Ozzy box sets if they do in fact plan to release them. The new Ozzy album? Might be waiting for that. Just a thought. Ps. It’s just a shame Bill wasn’t apart of 13. Sabbaths legacy is just too big for that.

Great topic guys, I have to exclude "13" from the list, as all 5 would be from that album. 1.) She's gone.... The strings are overkill. But the demo version on the box set, where you can hear the drums is not on the list 2.) Changes... The bright G major key & arpeggiating does not go well with the blues lyrics. 3.) Hard Road... The shuffle upbeat feel, scat style with heavy lyrics just does not go well together. 4.) St. Vitus dance... The 1st riff too country, the verse & bridge riff is real good, but they lyrics are cringe. relationship advice is not why I got into sabbath. 5.) Planet Caravan... It's good, it's just not a go to sabbath song. I haven't sought out to hear it in decades The worst sabbath songs are still better than countless other bands best songs.

I love "Over to You"! It has such an early Ozzy solo vibe, with that Bob Daisley style bass line in the chorus, I really vibe with it. And I find it amusing that it's the last song where he sang lead, then he passed the mic 'over to' Dio. Well technically first to Bill then to Dio but you get my point :)

Here's my least favorite from each Ozzy-led album (some of these I really like): Wicked World Rat Salad Solitude Under The Sun (FX was too easy) Fluff Am I Going Insane (Radio) She's Gone (I have to say I think Technical Ecstasy is vastly underrated and nearly flawless) Shockwave Zeitgeist (absolutely right on this one)

I agree 100% about your assessment of ‘13’. I was so disappointed when it came out because it’s like they forgot everything they had created, and why. It’s like they did it just to do it. The REAL final Sabbath for me is ‘The Devil You Know’. We’re talking about THE Black Sabbath. They’re better than that… and they deserved better than Rick Rubin. They needed Bill, and they needed someone like Andy Sneap. I’m still not over it. That is not how you end a legendary career. They likely knew exactly what Bill Ward was going to think. It’s beneath them, like you said. At least ‘Forbidden’ was original. That’s saying a lot.
