Cierto, no hay mal que por bien no venga (my dad would say the same thing). I'm sorry about your boat. I know you have many great memories attached to it and I watched how you and your son took care of her. I have the 2006 285 and I learned much by watching your channel and I appreciate advice you gave. I'm looking forward to watching your adventures with the new boat. So sorry that you have to part with your beloved 285. We parted with our 2004 285 last August after finding a beautiful 2013 315 Bayliner for a bargain price. We are loving the new larger boat, but we have some very special memories of our 285. Fantastic boat. good luck, can't wait to see what your next boat is.

Hi Michael, thanks so much brother! Although I had no intentions to change the boat, I just could not continue with the upkeeping of the inboard engine, and outdrive. Going to outboard, no more outdrive, no more inboard issues. Keeping it simple. Yes, almost 20 years, it hurts to part, We loved our 285, and the memories are always with us. Must have been a tough pill to swallow. Seems forever that you tried to diagnose the issue and it ends in engine failure. I know how much you were attached to the boat and all the good times on board with family and friends.

I live in Tampa and venture down to Marco Island annually, but would like to be able to stretch that to the keys with a bit bigger boat and twin engines...

I plan to upgrade to the 9 in the next year or 2. Bit larger, twin engines, more range, would like to be able to get to the keys...

can't think that a newer boat is gonna be any better. even newer boats have issues. if it was me, i'd see how much for a rebuilt motor for the bayliner. boat would last a while with that.

Hi John, you are right. But the new one has a 4 years of worry free factory warranty on boat & engine, and then extendable for another 3 years after that. Believe me I thought about this for months, and it was hard for me to decide because I love my Bayliner. Its been almost 20 years with me. Outboards are much more easier to service, and we now have everything accessible, unlike the bayliner engine compartment. It was a nightmare! Brother thanks so much for watching our video! I'm sorry, but I couldn't watch the entire video because the music was too loud. Just a piece of constructive advice: Balance the volume of the music with the volume of any dialogue in the video so that viewers are not having to constantly adjust the volume up to hear the dialogue and adjust it down to keep from having their ears blasted from the full volume music track (the default). If you don't know how to do that and don't want to figure it out, you are better off just not having the music at all. Blasting full volume music adds nothing to the video. If you do a little research on the main reason people will navigate away from a video without watching it in its entirey, you will discover that issues with the audio is it. Wind noise, dialogue that is too low and music that is too loud, background noise, etc. is it. A close second is posting a video in portrait mode, leaving two thirds of the screen effectively unused. I hope this helps. Take care!
