How did you secure the retractable cleat to the swim platform? Some have nuts on the bolts, but how to secure them - not all the way through platform, I assume.
@KeysBoatingChannel2 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks so much for watching our video. I used a piece of starboard on the inside thru bolted with the hardware that comes with the cleat. Peace from the Keys!

Nice new boat man! Question, do you know about the shift cable linkage on the bayliner Ciera? Mine is really tough to shift…any help would be great! 👍🏻 did you ever have to replace yours?
@KeysBoatingChannel4 күн бұрын
Hi, welcome back...Thanks! On my 2004 Bayliner 285 never had to replace the shift cables, but was getting ready to replace it soon, as it was 20 years old. I was going to spray WD40 into the shifter lever casing to soften it up a little, but never got to do it. Also thought to take the shifter casing apart to re-grease the internal parts. Mine wasn't too tough to shift though. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching our video! Peace from the Keys!

Hi Everyone, welcome back to Keys Boating Channel...In this video we install on our Jeanneau 795 NC Series 2 an item that is much needed, even if you don't navigate at night time. A light bar is necessary on all boats, this light bar has spot and flood light all in one. It was an easy install, and this light bar comes with everything you need to install. Easy Plug-in-Play! Thanks for watching! Peace from the Keys!

I bought the oem brass one and it didn't really fix the issue.
@KeysBoatingChannel20 күн бұрын
Hi, if changing the cap and rotor did not help, then next is your coil. Best way to have mechanic read the codes on your engine to pinpoint the issue. Thanks for watching our video. Peace from the Keys!
@travisconner158120 күн бұрын
@KeysBoatingChannel i don't see how a boat engine from 2019 with 150hrs on it that sits on a trailer in the garage could have ignition components worn out already. I changed the cap initially because it came with aluminum contacts
@travisconner158120 күн бұрын
Looks like its only $30 for a coil....maybe that's the issue. Cheap shit.

Great video my friend a most see if you have an inboard out board engine It has happen to me on my 5.7 Mercruiser. I change the Manifold and raisers every 2 1/2 to prevent that situation I got it to 2 hours installation . I do the installation my self there are videos on you tube on how to do it. The parts used to cost about $650.00 I did my last change on February 2024 and the parts cost me $1,100.00 ( That's Inflation for you) So 2 1/2 year ago from February 2024 it costed me $650.00. I f you are in salt water you most do the change. I have same engine since 2010 and is not a genuine Mercruiser but a rebuilt. I do salt away too and i think it help I use my boats every week and I am out in the water cruising and deep sea fishing. I have a single Mercruiser and an auxiliary 15 horse power outboard Mercury for emergencies.

Where can i find my serial number on 1987 mercuiser 5.7 engine
@KeysBoatingChannel21 күн бұрын
Hi, thanks so much for watching our video. I believe it's in the same place as mine...look on the carburetor or throttle body plastic cover...there should be a decal with engine information and serial number. The only other way to get the serial number is with a mercury computer that a mechanic would have to read engine codes. Hope this helps...Peace from the Keys!

Guys, it is extremely important that the areas are carefully fresh water washed to remove all the chlorides before you paint. Furthermore, using a wire brush is okay to remove some of the peeling paint, but prior to painting, you need to use a coarse sandpaper in order you make an anchor pattern in the substrate for the paint to have a good adhesion. When priming it could be a good idea to use an epoxy primer before you apply the finish paint. Remember to respect the minimum over-coating intervals between each coat and of course the minimum immersion time after final coat.
