Skunks, boogers, a midnight dash to her parents' house and lots of laughter - Sadie and Christian are recounting the hours leading up to their second daughter Haven's birth - and what happened in the days and weeks after. Sadie gets honest about the differences in recovery from her C-section this time around, her postpartum lows, and the unexpected - and hilarious - surprise that really helped alleviate her stress and anxiety just before meeting Haven. Christian and Sadie are SO grateful for the outpouring of love and support they've received for their growing family and share some encouragement for any new or about-to-be parents out there too!

He seems incredibly insecure and envious of his precious wife, Sadie, which is sad to see, because no marriage can thrive and be a happy and fulfilling one with such behavior. I know from experience. It gets old and is draining and builds bad feelings. Even the kindest of wives will grow tired and her patience will grow thin ending in love lost. I pray they get therapy, so Christian can become aware of how destructive his treatment of Sadie is and what he has to lose. It’s also sad to think of their girls being raised with a father who constantly puts their mother down and challenges her non-stop. They need our prayers. 🙏

Shoulder dystocia is more likely with an induction as baby is being forced down fast so they can't naturally turn (which would avoid shoulder dystocia) and then on top of that having an epidural limits your mobility as you can't get into position that would encourage baby to come out safely. Makes me sad how little doctors understand physiological birth, most have never even witnessed an unmedicated birth! Hope this finds anyone who it could be helpful to! C-section is a very serious surgery and has MANY risks and complications for both mother and baby and should be avoided unless absolutely necessary... ob gyns recommend it because they are surgeons.
@kate3276
@kate3276 Жыл бұрын
Agree with all of this. My first was induced and got stuck for that very reason, I avoided a c section but endured a severe tear that has caused issues ever since. My 2nd want not induced was an entire pound bigger (9lb 14oz!) with huge shoulders and I had 0 issues. I’ll never agree to unnecessary induction again.

Yes! Cascade of interventions. So sad that she was encouraged to have a cesarean after her last birth. There is absolutely NO WAY for OBs to know the outcome of subsequent births. Sounds like her OB is the typical uninformed and convenience dr.
@annaghaas
@annaghaas Жыл бұрын
Elective C-section with history of shoulder dystocia is absolutely not evidence-based, but no surprise that many OBs are still practicing this as they generally don’t keep up with current best- practice. Not only do I deliver many babies without an issue whose older siblings have had shoulder dystocia, but to resolve a shoulder dystocia is not even that complicated comparing to a cesarean. Anyway, I digress, as a CNM it was hard to listen to that part of the story but I’m glad that they all feel happy and healthy.

I had an emergency c section with my one and only kid. His head was too big. It was not on my birth plan so I was so scared as I had only heard horror stories about them. Then once they gave me the numbing meds the rest was fine. I was pretty talkative with all the meds. But God was of course watching over me and everything went smoothly even my recovery was great. My Drs were amazed!

Make sure you two are really working on things privately. I feel like some conflict and possible resentment is starting to come through- I noticed it on the last podcast you posted together and now after listening to this and reading comments I know I'm not the only one noticing it. You're a beautiful couple but if there are things going on at home- make sure you both are communicating. As much as children are a blessing- they are also a huge strain on a marriage at times- especially when you have a toddler AND a newborn. Then you add the pressures of social media and your job.. There is nothing wrong with that either- it's completely normal. Just make sure you are putting each other first- praying that you both get some much needed rest as well with having a new baby.
@MaplesyrupCA

Im not being negative at all- in fact my comment was very positive and I love Sadie and Christian. However I don't believe being passive aggressive toward your spouse is loving. They are going through a very beautiful but tough transition in their lives and I'm speaking from experience. My comment didn't call anyone names or wasn't ill-intentioned. Simply saying that if perhaps things are going on it would be good to communicate how each of of them are feeling. And not to suppress feelings so that they come out at a bad time or in a short way.

Also... Don't be afraid to leave if needed. Sometimes things just don't work out. You have a great support system behind you. Don't be afraid to ask for help if you need it. I can relate my first son I was sick morning and night. Then my labor was long and hard he was stuck in the birth canal I wasn't dilating so they wouldn't give me an epidural till I was at least 6 cm . I he was 8lbs 2 & a half and he was 24 inches long . This was March 5th 1985. Then I had my 2nd son it was traumatic they lost his heart beat. They all came in and said we have to do an emergency C-section I won't go into the bad it would take forever. He weighed 8lb 15 & a half oz. That was October 17 1983. I was on the pill and got pregnant again . I was so scared to have another C-section because of how traumatic the first one was. But it was really quick and he weighed 7lbs 2 oz 18 inches. That was February 4th 1985. Congratulations on y'all newest baby girl. I'm blessed with 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Y’all have to remember that you do not know them personally. I won’t disagree that there were multiple instances of “correction” in this episode, but what if Christian is just a literal and forward person who tends to “tell things as they are” and because he’s so close to Sadie, who may be someone who kinda just tells information generally, he feels more comfortable to just add in his perspective? But, I don’t know them personally so this might not be what’s going on either, but I don’t think he was intentionally disrespectful to her. Also, maybe you are someone who doesn’t take literal/forwardness well so you feel personally offended by what he’s saying or doing, but it doesn’t come across like Sadie is offended. Those instances of correction came across like a married couple who have different communication styles and aren’t bashful to bring both styles into the conversation. But again. I don’t know them personally, these were just my thoughts of not trying to dig deep into it. I think some people read too deep into things without actually having a lot of information to back it up because they don’t know the people personally.

I would agree if this was only a matter of words but his whole body language speaks to a bigger problem, you can see her constantly smiling and laughing to tone down his bad attitude, also one thing is correcting and other is trying to bring someone down

@@wendymtzcmy husband, love him with all my heart. But he used to, and still sometimes now, will correct me when I am telling a story of how I seen it. Just as Christian is doing Sadie. It drove me crazy. It also made me feel like people thought I was lying, which made me feel angry.. it was the way I remembered things… Then on top of it, when he would tell a story to his friends, or whoever, there were some exaggerations. The difference was, I did not correct him in front of people… Finally, I had talk to him about it. And how it made me feel… He didn’t realize that he was doing it. Or that he wasn’t meaning to upset me… Sometimes, people just see things from a different perspective. Idk. He apologize to me, once I brought it to his attention… communication is necessary.

The whole time you’re telling the story of the anesthesiologist having a boogie, Christian is wiping his nose like he’s paranoid about having a boogie too!

Aw so sweet to see your new baby! I don't follow other social media so i didnt know her name till now! Although i agree with others, why is Christian telling you how you felt? Telling you you didn't throw up etc. That was frustrating.

I had 3 homebiths and my 3rd had shoulder dystocia and cord was wrapped twice. My midwife was amazing. He lived, but its a very scary thing and the hardest I've ever prayed.

I think everyone need to get off Christian back and stop always having a counsel for him 😒. Y’all don’t even know him! He is genuine to who he is and is not being fake for y’all. All of sudden everyone is a marriage counselor 😩 lol. Anyways this video is awesome was so funny and I’m glad you found the humor in it all and God definitely was in this birth. He went above and beyond to make you feel comfortable 😍. You gotta love God and His sense of humor 😂😂.😂.

I had an emergency csection with my first after 18 hours of active labor. I had a planned csection with my second and what a difference! It was so smooth and chill. I also had the dry heaves and barfs after my second.

Looks like Christian would like a bigger roll in the video. I think your personality is bubbly and talkative but you run him over. Give him a chance to talk without correcting or interrupting. Sorry but he doesn't look happy at all.

They probably used synthetic morphine in your spinal block. It makes you itch & can cause extreme nausea. It must not have been used with my first c-section because I didn't have any problems. But it did happen with my second c-section, so with my 3rd c-section, I made sure they gave me an antihistamine & nausea meds as soon as they could. That made a big difference! Congratulations on sweet baby Haven! God bless y'all!🙏🏼💝💐
