These are some good suggestions .. almost making these cards too good! I think a lot of these upgrades would be awesome, but pretty sure if they did this, it would come with an increase in the annual fee!

I agree! Differentiation would be important. I think it would be interesting to see higher travel multipliers on the CSR - but I think the CSP would need a bump in it's travel category first!

The issue is you’re not understanding that people with school aged kids or who are teachers can’t go early or late on vacations. Which would just be a great time to say you’ve never had to deal with it.

@@cyslim He can only speak from his own experience, but yes, there are unique challenges that come with redeeming points for vacations when you have kids! There are definitely other creators out there with kids that may have more insight!

I agree with both of your suggestions! That CFU needs a 2X category period. It doesn't need anything else! And as for CFF, if they had 3X on either grocery or gas, then Chase would have a more unified system - although this probably wouldn't happen unless they cut the rotating categories. I'm personally in favor of that, but I know a lot of people like them, but it's just not my cup of tea.

@@TheCreditFrog sadly, you're probably right about the rotating categories nerfing the rest of the cards. I would also make a modification to your CSP/CSR changes (because of the "One Sapphire Rule"): give CSP and CSR the same categories, but give the CSR higher multipliers.

These are no fee cards. Chase’s fiduciary duty is to make money not make cards that reward us. While I like these it all comes at a cost. Chase has not changed the CSPs annual fee since it was introduced in 2009/2010. How do they float that, the SUB has been largely the same 50K vs 60K UR. If they retool the cards to make them better I would expect annual fees and SUBs to go up just like Amex. I’m not really looking for that even if it means the cards remain imperfect (purposely built in inefficiency).

I agree though, if they. make the CSP better, there is definitely going to be an increase in annual fees. The way I see it is that annual fees are going up across the board so they should definitely use that opportunity to make their cards better for us. Otherwise, there's plenty of other cards out there that we can use, which is great for us as consumers since we can vote with our feet!

I think he's on to something. With the revamp of the Bold card, I think some changes are coming, but not sure when. Pretty sure Chase wants a luxury Marriott card, but they're still working it out with Marriott/Amex.

@@TheCreditFrog that was my thinking as well. It’s why I’m holding off on the Amex MB Biz and Brilliant as Visa/MC is easier to carry and I could see them making the ritz similar to the CSR. Maybe it’s optimism but I could totally see there being a United perk ie club passes or travel bank credit on a refreshed Ritz as MB and United already have that relationship with Titanium for United Silver

Yeah, there should be at least one category covered - either 3X groceries (not online) or 3X gas. I think 2X travel is pretty weak this day and age, especially on a card with a $95 annual fee as there are plenty of other cards out there that do 3X travel with no annual fee. CFU certainly should be bumped to 2X (and maybe lose all the other redundant categories)
