Appreciate you sharing the credit cap info! IHG Premier and Business are some of my favorite drawer dwelling cards....no spend needed and yield positive value!
@JacobsPointsAndProfit8 сағат бұрын
It'll be exciting to see how you use your IHG points when that time comes. Requesting a credit limit decrease is something I've though about doing for a while because some of my personal cards have higher limits, but Chase keeps approving my applications so I haven't had to worry about it yet
@TheCreditFrog8 сағат бұрын
That's awesome Jacob! Yeah, I would just keep on applying until you hit the dreaded In Review or Declined situation, and then you'll know that it's time to implement those CL decreases. I've already used those points to book a hotel for my honeymoon - 4th night free!
@MontyTheCardNerd8 сағат бұрын
Congrats on getting this powerful card and appreciate the credit limit discussion! I think I'm close to an aggregate credit limit that Chase might have issues with. Thankfully that shouldn't be a show stopper as you pointed out.
@TheCreditFrog8 сағат бұрын
Thanks Monty! Yeah, it could go either way if you wanted to do a CL decrease or not, but if not, it just takes a little more work after the application is put in pending review or declined status. Knowing the game is the most important!

Phenomenal content & data points. I actually sent Chase a secured message to lower my credit limit with the Amazon card because I don’t need 15k to 5k and to strategize for Ink Cash approval soon!

Nice Neno! You've been waiting for that Ink Cash for a while, and you'll soon have it!
Nice looking card💪 Interesting outcome, thanks for the data points and for sharing your future strategy with Chase. Keep up the great work mi hermano!🫵

How do you actually get out of Pop Up Jail? I got the honors card a few days ago and my plan was to grab the surpass card in like 10 days then grab the aspire card around December but now that I am in Pop up Jail, not sure that plan will work and I am annoyed with amex lol. I put spend on my business card and had no personal cards.
@TheCreditFrog9 сағат бұрын
Spending on the cards is the technique that is recommended most commonly, but there isn't an exact answer on how to get out of PUJ. But with these DoC links, a lot of people have had success with getting out of pop-up jail with these cards!
@user-vq5gi1wt2z21 сағат бұрын
Hey Stan if I’m looking to get both the basic Hilton honors cards and the surpass how do you think I should go about it? Should I apply for both within 5 minutes of each other or wait 1 week between applications. I’m really confused. Great video by the way! Thanks!
@TheCreditFrog13 сағат бұрын
Since Amex has a 1 in 5 rule where you can't apply for more than 1 Amex card in 5 days. I would wait at least 5 days before applying for the Hilton Surpass card after applying for the Hilton Honors card.

Good points. Watching this video reminded me that my family has two Southwest cards that we rarely used, and I should cancel them to have spots for other Chase cards.
@TheCreditFrogКүн бұрын
Great idea! You can also figure out when the last time they got the welcome offers because Companion Pass could be another consideration if it's been more than 24 months!
@DiamondRyceКүн бұрын
instead of calling the reconsideration, would it make sense to lower personal credit limit on one or two cards prior to next chase application or would chase flag that an issue. i might run into this issue next year if i go for other chase personal cards again once under 5/24. example: lower credit limit of chase prime visa from like 15k to 10k. then within a month or so, apply for IHG Premier or chase freedom flex.
@TheCreditFrogКүн бұрын
Yeah, I think that would be one way to do it. The only thing is that once you lower your CLs, you're not necessarily guaranteed a card approval, but it may lessen the chance that you get denied for a CL issue. Your example is exactly how you would do this process though!

Can you stack this with the AAA Travel Advantage Card? I’ve heard you’re allowed one or the other.

You can only have either Daily or Travel. If you have a P2 then you can have one and P2 can have another!

@Stan The Credit Frog Just wondering, for the AAA cc, the 10k cap means every year as long as i dont spend more than 10k, i will get the 3 percent cb right? Thank you

Yes, that’s correct, but that limit is for the 5% category!

This is great, thank you so much! I have a question: When the money is finally transferred to the Roth IRA on fidelity through the backdoor Roth IRA process, do you then transfer the money in the Roth IRA to the mutual/index fund account you want to buy as the last step? for example, invest in FDKLX or AMAGX? because wouldn't the money just sit in the Roth IRA account as cash and therefore not accrue any interest?
@TheCreditFrog2 күн бұрын
You’re welcome! Yes, after doing the backdoor Roth IRA, you need to invest these funds so that they can grow over time.

the business advantage customized cash card is best, gives up to 50k / year instead of the measily 2500$/Quarter on the personal one. i hated how i easily spent over 2500$ in just one month and didnt qualify for the 5.25% cash back.

I’m not sure. When I purchased mine, I used my IHG Premier that earned 3X. It coded as business services for what that’s worth.

Glad it worked out for you on that one. They just increased the Ink Preferred to 120k bonus with same spend as standard offer of 100k. I'm meeting with a banker on Monday at a branch to see if they can help me out with my reconsideration as I was denied in April and again last week for it because of available credit and "too many new accounts". Fingers crossed they'll be wise and approve me for it considering I've banked with them for 20 years and currently hold 4 personal cards of theirs along with the Ink Cash and Ink Unlimited business cards. I'd like to snatch this business card up too as I already have the personal IHG card which I plan to cancel early next year before the AF posts.

The $10 Ubercash is a nice supplement to the $15 from the Platinum, making it an easy to use $25 because it auto-loads. The $10 Dining credit though, extremely annoying to remember to use that.

I agree. That dining credit is pretty annoying - and limiting too!

I experienced this firsthand! I was purposely staying under 5/24 and when they came out with the elevated offer for the Reserve, i applied... And got denied! They said exactly this - i already had too much credit with them. EXCEPT when they told me this and i said to lower my other credit limits and/or transfer my credit limits to the new card and reconsider, they still denied me! I was pissed. I still lowered my credit limits on a couple cards for future applications. Maybe it'll work out, though, and I'll be able to get their new Emerald card when it comes out? 🤞🤞 Staying under 5/24 just in case.
@TheCreditFrog3 күн бұрын
Ah dang, that sucks! In that situation, I hope they were able to try and transfer the CL over and then you were able to keep your existing CL on your older cards since they denied you! Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'm going to also lower my CLs so that I won't get auto-denied on future applications too! I'm also staying under 5/24 just in case as well because you never know!
@pizzoe3 күн бұрын
@@TheCreditFrog The credit limit was crazy high so lowering it wasn't a big deal. I actually had my "Business Relationship Associate" and even the branch manager try to get me approved and they still denied me! I'm assuming destiny has a plan for me with Chase and JP Morgan between rumored new account tiers and cards coming out so I'm keeping the faith! 😊

Stan it would be great to see a video on how you got all of these super high limits on your credit accounts. Like I’m sure other people with your credit age and income don’t have that many accounts with such high limits. Only other KZfaq that comes close is Dave Hanson, but he’s openly stated making millions a year with a long credit age. Unless you’re secretly hiding this.. lol

Great video! One question: I made a sizable contribution to my Roth IRA in 2024, but am now worried I will surpass the income limit, as I received a raise and my salary was backfilled to January 1st. So my question is: can I move that contribution out of the Roth into a traditional IRA, and then backdoor to the same Roth I moved it out of?
@TheCreditFrog4 күн бұрын
If that contribution has already been invested or has made any interest, I'd recommend speaking to a financial advisor for further guidance on what to do. It's not as simple as you described, and you want to make sure you take that money out of the Roth correctly so it doesn't trigger a tax issue.

I’m young and dumb can someone explain to me why higher credit limits are a good thing? Wouldn’t you want to just pay everything off immediately?
@bikolmao63044 күн бұрын
The second most important factor in your credit score is your credit utilization, which is (your balance)/(your total credit) For the most part, the more of your total credit you use, the lower your credit score will be. Having high limits and not using it all shows future lenders that you have restraint and you’re likely to pay back your loans.
