Here is how we celebrated my oldest son David 24th golden birthday.
Our birthday traditions are when the birthday boy or girl goes to bed the rest of us decorate the downstairs so when they wake up in the morning, they first see our traditional birthday sign above the stairs that I’ve had literally since David was three years old and have taped it and taped it and taped it. Then they come into the kitchen to see their cake their favorite candy on the table and pop, and all of their gifts ready to be opened. This year me and Noah took care of everything, and I made David a homemade cookie cake cookie.
I’m tired of going to the store buying cakes when the kids were little I used to make their cakes all the time and I asked them what they want it if they wanted something special. I’ve decided to go back to that and start making my kids cake so I can make them extra special. They are getting older and I only have a couple more years to do this with my kids so I want to make sure that I am playing all my effort into it.
So for their birthday they get to have their favorite breakfast and David was chocolate chip eggo waffles, and he got to take the day off of work and play the Xbox in the morning, and then the birthday boy gets to pick where he wants to go for lunch. We have done this since the kids were little and when they’re in school we take them out and me and my husband take them on a special lunch just the three of us. And so David picked Applebees and he ordered a burger and fries. Then we came home, kinda relax, and then that night I made him his dinner of choice, which was fried chicken, mashed potatoes, corn, and cornbread biscuits. We had a birthday party he opened up all his presence. Dad cut the cake and we just kinda had a nice evening, relaxing and having a ping pong tournament.
In the spring it’s really hard because we have four birthdays within three weeks. Next up is Joshua then three days later is Gideon and less than a week later is Izabella, So January February March are super super busy for birthdays.
Look out for our next video where we did another wedding dress shopping trip and Izzy tried on some bridesmaids dresses for Hailey to look at, and we came up with her colors for the wedding, and I think she is actually decided on a dress from the first place that she tried on. But she’s not 100% sure because this place had absolutely beautiful dresses.
