Also, let's mention how nice it is to have a horse who's so chill at a show. Loads himself, waits to be tied. Comes off the trailer quiet, no screaming. Totally relaxed and ears forward.

He just gave you a round of true effort, you can teach a horse many things. But honest effort is not taught, its there or it isnt, well done Rocky.

I like the way they organized this show, it gives everyone a good chance to shine in their respective strong suits. If you had a bad day in one area and really good day in another, this setup allows for that to be rewarded. Confidence boosts for everyone.

Lovely to see his confidence building as he went around that XC course - he did a great job. He stayed so chilled the whole time too. Meg is going to be so happy if you cross over to the eventing dark side!

He looks like a totally different horse! His dressage has improved loads this year; he looks so much more relaxed. And that SJ round looked like he listened so well!!

Bless him, he seems to have a really nice attitude; he doesn't always understand what he's being asked but he tries to get it right for you. He improves every time 😊

Rocky looks so good and conditioned. I think his score was really pretty good on dressage. He did so well!

I did the same thing. Took my hunter/jumper and decided to go dressage and eventing. Totally different world. Rocky was a star. So cute how he looked at some of the fences and then went "okay Mom!"

The Dressage looked a lot better! His canter and transitions have come along so much! One thing that can help if he's twitchy and throwing his head around; spray him liberally with fly spray before you go in. I find that can make a huge difference in the summer months

Am welling up at how brave you both were doing Xcountry, and how it couldn’t have gone better! (Water excluded!) His showjumping was also amazing, such a balanced canter these days. Rocky is the most genuine, try-to-please horse, and watching you both in this vlog was an absolute pleasure.

Hi Holly -- Wow! You may have found Rocky's 'niche' on that XC course, huh? One senses that he is really comfortable (maybe even thrilled?) with the kind of freedom he gets galloping (in hand, of course) over that beautiful green turf. I see that I'm not the first to have noticed how brave he was (a testament to his trust in you) -- or how wonderful he looks (also a testament to your care). Best regards from Eastern USA. JV

Well done.👍 But it is'nt horse trials, it's called eventing competition. Because trails means riding on horses, like trail riding. But maybe they call it like that in Australia? Most horses when starting crosscountry are surprised with the water, but with training rocky will do it very good.😊

Trials is eventing.. Trial riding is definitely not eventing.. But the long formula in eventing has trails and tracks!

Was so happy to see this video, especially since I've been sick in bed for last few days and missing the horses. Rocky is a joy and you have so much fun with him! I enjoy watching what you do with him and your other horses. I am so excited that you are considering not selling Rocky this year. He is so special and you do so well together!!!

Unfortunately it’s just too expensive to ship a horse from Australia to Ireland and likely way too stressful for Rocky to make it worth it

Well done! He has come on so well 👍 I do have a question…. I am unsure of the rules in Australia about riding solid fences and wearing a fixed peak riding hat. I always thought you needed a skull cap with silk…. Is it that different there? 🤔
