I have been a recreational 4WDer for over 35 years. For a number of years I was the president/club captain of a club. Moved away from the area, but was invited to go on a day trip with the club when I was back visiting a few years later. Part of the trip was on a normal gravel road and included crossing a weight limited bridge. I used the bridge and was given a hard time by a newer member who didn't know me, because I wouldn't drive through the heavy vehicle water crossing. Guess who had to tow him out when he drowned his vehicle with water up to the windows. I had learnt the hard way a number of years previously to take the easiest route wherever possible.

I was off reading once and a mate of mine decided to drive through a hole like that instead of driving round it. The 4 land rovers with chains in train were unable to pull him out so he left it and recovered it 4 months later. Not the kind of thing you can do in the outback. Don’t push your luck next time.

Well done on the 50K guys, all the hard work is paying off! Your cinematography and editing just keeps getting better, and I love the music choices too. I've been following since the General days pre-Covid (JK driver here) and was pretty sad when you sold the General. Bowser is the only thing that could have bettered it I think! The build you've done is amazing. My guess on the fuel consumption is 28.5L/100km.

New invention for you guys a fuel cleaning pump that uses centrifugal action to spread particulates to the outside while cleanfuel moves through the inside. Very simple and very affective and affordable to stop the fuel lines being blocked by the movement and distubance of your fuel in-particulates.

Years ago a coworker asked me to take him out in his NEW 4x4 to try it out. All day I pointed out fun and safe areas to try. He said no way. Then as the sun was setting on a cold winters day he decided to try a "puddle" and took a run at it. I was telling him no as we never checked it out first. The front end went 3' into the puddle when we hit it and buried the hood. There was some ice on the top that smashed the fenders and the lights. It was STUCK!! Fortunately some guy was out looking for people that may be stuck so he pulled us out. Several thousand dollars in repair bills AND he had to tell his wife what he had done. Since then I always take the easy way around as I remember him and that puddle.

Absolutely another great episode once again. Going for a guess of 29.8km/l (edit 29.8l/100km, not km/l). The mog would look sick as well with brush bars for the box, and help give slight peace of mind rubbing up on big overhanging tree limbs.

I would say around 38L/100km. They use around 20-22L/100km unloaded and you would have a bit of weight with the camper. So around the 28-30L/100km mark and the. Driving slow off road would bump it up so yeah, I reckon around 38L/100km

moments like 11:03 really screams "bull-bar with tree bars up to the roof!!" In case of proximity closing to zero distance just having an option to gently push tree branches up and alongside of the camber body without damage to either one. Light offroaders like jeeps and toyotas had simple wire cables from the front hood/fender corners up to the roof rack. But on Mog I seen a better solution (I think I first saw it on some of the Jay Couch builds), and those were regular tube bars. Heavy duty. Connected to cab frame and not to camper, to allow natural mog twist without problems.

What a trek! Great to see you guys come through and out the other end still feeling upbeat, smiling and relishing the journey after that challenging day1 of bush-bashing a wider path and getting fun-taxed by that mudhole. Massive congrats for reaching a milestone 50K followers goal here. Way to do it too, dropping ya dacks out there in the rain, Chris! Keep that up, it'll be 100K next week. Hehehe 🤪But seriously, this popularity is no surprise really, because the quality of production and the remarkable destinations you explore makes this a very compelling channel to watch & daydream of our own future adventures. You two unfailingly leave us all feeling transported from daily routines, out into the natural world. The world needs more of that feeling about now. You are both great honorary ambassadors for an amazing State and amazing Country. Onward to better and better times, eh! Best guess on fuel consumption? All up I reckon somewhere in the region of 58-62 litres, assuming you aren't counting the juice chewed up just getting to the track. Lets call it 61.6L 🤷‍♂

Thank you so much Marty! This GoPro was already a bit broken so it didn't survive the mud unfortunately. We have announced the winner on Instagram story, on the giveaway video (pinned comment) and also in the community tab (only accessible on mobile and computer). We would have preferred to announce it in the episode but (luckily) our editing/filming schedule didn't allow it as we are roughly 1 month ahead. The exact weight was 9.02T!

@@TheOutFit re -- weight Oregon here. I am shocked. Our 1996 Ford CF8000 ExpeditionVehicle is 14,000# (seven ton) across the scale. We carry 190-gallons (about 720 liters) of diesel to feed our Cummins 505ci/8.3-liter, plus close to a ton of tools and spares for our weeks in remote forests. We rarely get better than 14mpg.

Hi, as an idea for the not so Australian familiar viewers it would be really cool if you could show a map for a glimpse of en eye to see where your tracks are located within Australia
